Flowers from ceremony to reception

romtina, on February 13, 2020 at 10:52 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

Is anyone repurposing flowers from the ceremony for the reception? We will have an outdoor wedding ceremony, possibly in front of a wedding arch. Can any type of flower decoration for the arch somehow be used for the cake table of the sweetheart table? I see pictures of flowers on arches, but not sure how they are attached... Is it all one big piece, or does the florist build the arrangement onto the arch? Looking for something that can easily be taken off the arch and then transferred, and just placed on a table at the reception. Or any alternatives to the arch?

I’m repurposing flowers. Although our arch will be decorated with just a white cloth, no flowers so we had to ask for flowers for sweetheart table. But bouquets will become center piece additions.

I had flowers on my arch and then they were repurposed to my guest book table, memorial table, etc. when you talk to your florist just let them know and they will know how to make them so they can be reused. My florist actually made the suggestion because I was limiting my budget.

We repurposed some of our flowers, but not our arch flowers. Our florist said it was not possible due to the assembly on the arch. That maybe a case by case basis, but it was not an option for us. We repurposed some of our bridesmaids bouquets.

I would consult your florist about this.

I plan on having my arch flowers re purposed to our sweetheart table. My florist explained they're actually attached with zip ties so they will wait til the ceremony is over to take them down and move them to the reception. She also even suggested the bridesmaids bouquets can be re purposed by the guest book table or even next to the cake for pictures. This also saves money so you don't have to purchase even more decorative flowers. When meeting with a florist just ask where they can re purpose flowers.

This is exactly what daughter's florist did. The large floral piece was attached to the arch with zipties. Following the ceremony, after guests moved to the cocktail hour, the florist cut the ties and moved the large arch to the front edge of the Sweetheart table. She also had clear cylinder vases for each of the BMs' bouquets, they were scattered throughout the reception venue (e.g., on the cake table, the bar, the coffee table, etc.). The DOC collected the bouquets after the wedding party entrance, and put them in the waiting vases. At the end of the night, the BMs took home their bouquet and the vase.
