Flowers from Whole Foods?

GrumpyCatRebecca, on March 9, 2016 at 1:52 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

Has anybody used Whole Foods for their flowers (bouquets or just centerpieces)? I've heard they have great prices compared to traditional florists, but I'm nervous about whether the service or quality would be as good.

I would definitely do it! I was thinking of going to Cosco, Marianos, something like that a day or 2 before my wedding to save a lot of money, and they're very pretty.

I got all my bouts, corsages and bouquets from Whole Foods. I had four bouts for the groomsmen, three for the dads, two corsages for the moms, four bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet made for $200 plus tax. I am holding my bouquet in the picture and they wrapped a ribbon around them and ordered all the flowers fresh for me.

Each florist is different and the look of your flowers is going to depend on the skill of the florist. I'd strongly suggest visiting a location or two to look at the bouquets they have for purchase. That way you can get a feel for the florist's skill level.

A coworker of mine went to whole foods for her daughters centerpieces. She just bought some of the pre-done bouquets and bought vases from dollar tree and had them on the tables. It was inexpensive and looked nice from the photos I saw.

JSmith - I read that wrong at first and thought you said that just your bouquet was "only" $200. Lol, I as scratching my head. Anyway, thanks for the info.

We didn't use their florist--just bought a few bouquets from the display and wrapped them ourselves. This was probably a mistake, but flowers were low priority for us and we were rushed for time, so kind of just grabbed what appealed to us (again, I stress flowers were low priority). They were super cheap--like under $50 for four bouquets--but low quality. The hydrangeas in the bridesmaids' bouquets were wilting pretty noticeably by the time of the ceremony despite picking them up that morning. But, again, we put like zero effort in this and they were super cheap, so you get what you pay for. I think if you use one of their florists you'd have better luck.

The people I've seen using their florists over the years (as opposed to just grabbing a bouquet from the floor) have come back with good reviews. But do check out the qualify of the flowers on display before deciding on one. Some of their florists are obviously better than others.

Marcella from WholeFoods in Middletown, NJ did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding this past September. After hearing my "vision", Marcella knew exactly what I wanted, more so than I did. She went above and beyond throughout the entire process (and I can be persistent bordering on annoying with details Smiley smile). Everything, from the bouquets to the boutonnieres to the centerpieces to the breathtaking Chuppah were more than we could have dreamed.

Many of our guests could not believe WholeFoods was responsible for our arrangement, and that it wasn't DIY! The prices are as amazing as the flowers (Former brides, including my sister-in-law, were a bit jealous that our flowers cost less than 1/3 of what theirs did Smiley smile) I will always recommend Marcella and team (or a local WholeFoods) for any event in need of flowers!
