Flowers ... go fake or keeping it real ?

Janessa, on January 15, 2020 at 4:42 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 23
How tacky is it to insert artificial flowers in a wedding to save on the budget ? Maybe fake flowers for the bridal party ?

I’m using both. My mom got a ton of artificial flowers from a friend that makes floral pieces so we are using those for my centerpieces. I’m only doing a few real pieces through a florist, which we are meeting with this weekend.

We're using only artificial flowers and bought them from Ling's Moment! Has saved us a ton of money.

Up to you! If flowers aren't the important part for you, then you could probably put them throughout your wedding. Last longer too.

It's a personal preference. We are using fake flowers because they are more cost effective and I'm allergic to real ones so really this is the best option for me just based on that.

We're going fake, even for the bouquet, as I have moderate pollen allergies. It's all up to you; it's your day!

We are using fake flowers for everything. I was too worried about the flowers looking wilted. Plus i feel the real flowers were high price wise.

We're using all fake flowers and couldn't care less. To us, flowers are unreasonably expensive for wedding decor and even bouquets so we got super cheap fake flowers and wouldn't of had it in any other way. Smiley xd

My flowers were all artificial, and I got a ton of compliments on them. I got them all on Amazon

I’m using both. My gazebo flowers and aisle runners will be real and my bouquets and centerpieces will be fake. Flowers ... go fake or keeping it real ? 4

We only used fake flowers, and no one even cared. (My dad is allergic, and we got to save money. Double win!)

We used Budget Bride, and the bouquets, in particular, looked spectacular. Plus, we were able to make up our centerpieces weeks in advance, without worrying about wilting/going bad!

Whatever your heart desires! If flowers aren't super important and something else is- save and use alternatives! If flowers are a huge influence on your big day splurge and get real ones! I'll just say, I feel like fake flowers have come so far in the last 5 years, they look so much more realistic! My friend used silk flowers in her wedding and not a single person even knew and the photos look fantastic!

We are using a mix of real and fake in all of our floral decor. I love Magnolia's and wanted to use them in our floral arrangements however, they are a delicate flower and brown and bruise easily. Our florist will be using high quality silk Magnolia's in all of our floral arrangements and some real flowers in the mix as well.

This is my toss bouquet I made yesterday with silk flowers from Hobby Lobby and I love how it turned out. My florist suggested making it ourselves versus paying her as I made this for less than $15 and she would charge closer to $40 for one she created. Silk flowers are an excellent way to not only save on wedding costs but also not waste a living plant for one day.

Thank you ladies for all your input ! I’m surprised to see the high volume of brides using artificial flowers . What is the price point savings from real vs. artificial and do you look
Outside of the florist such as online ?

I did all fake for my ceremony flowers! I got them from Michaels when they were having a doorbuster sale. $38 total. For our centerpieces our venue provided single real long stemmed roses for the tables and it was great.

My bouquet is sola wood and silk flowers - but I am planning to stop at Trader Joe's the day before and grab fresh flowers for the table (we only have one large table to seat 18 people so it's easy enough to do it myself).

We’re having silk floral centerpieces to save money. They honestly look great and in photos, you can’t even tell they’re fake. Bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages will all be real flowers. We save a lot of money by doing both.
