So I’m getting married in May, and as far as major things left to book/pay for I just have flowers. I haven’t booked a florist yet. I have one in mind if I go that route but the more i think of the money I’m spending the more I freak out a bit. Who is doing their own flowers? Real vs silk? How did...
So I’m getting married in May, and as far as major things left to book/pay for I just have flowers. I haven’t booked a florist yet. I have one in mind if I go that route but the more i think of the money I’m spending the more I freak out a bit. Who is doing their own flowers? Real vs silk? How did hard has it been for you? Was the cost significantly less? I’m like the least creative person in the world and work way more than I’d like to admit so I’m just worried I’ll fail at doing my own and look like a 2 year old did it 😂

I'm doing my own, and they are silk. My bouquet is going to be $34, for 4 bridesmaids will be $60, about the same for boutonnieres, flower crowns for me and the bridesmaids $30, using real leaves for the flower girl to throw. So in all around $185.

I'm doing my own, totally agree an expensive florist was just not in our budget! Luckily my venue package comes with a basic flower centerpiece so I just had to worry about bouquets and boutonnieres. I spent about $120 for my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids, and 8 boutonnieres (groom, groomsmen, ushers). Budget-brides.com has really great options of all price ranges and they look really well made!

    Thinking of doing the following:
Bridesmaids carry Japanese fans, no flowers
Groomsmen have artificial calla lily boutoineers (etsy or wedideas)
Corsages for the moms diy (plenty of youtube videos on this topic)
My bouq and his bout done by a professional florist

Not sure if this is possible but my preliminary thoughts.

I went with silk flowers but had them made for me. Check out budget bride .com they have 100$ and 200$ options for the bridal party. I went With a more expensive option because I wanted to design my own but they are a great company and the silk flowers look amazing.

Lanterns sound so great. Me and my FI really like Japan, so I thought the fans would be appropriate and different. There are some really creative folks on here for sure. :-)

I was hoping someone would comment here who used budget brides! The pictures on their website looked awesome but I’m always nervous ordering things online. That bouquet is gorgeous! I’ll definitely be using them for at least the arch flowers if not more!

I was super nervous at first. I ordered Two trial bouquets and the pre approval photo because I wanted A custom bouquet. They are really great with responding and offer a 100% refund minus shipping if you do not like it.

We are doing bloominous!! We almost did full service which was half the price of a florist. We've since changed to diy which is again, half of that cost.

Energizer bouquet (click link for photo)

I used Budget-bride.com. They are silk. Waited for a 20% off sale, and got my cascading bouquet, 3 large bridesmaids bouquets, added diamond pins, groom boutonniere, 6 groomsmen boutonnieres, and 6 pin on corsages, all for $502.00. They were amazing to work with! And I got them 4 months early, so I'm not freaking out about any of it anymore. 😊 I ordered a sample bouquet ahead of time as well. I went with the Energizer model and it's stunning! High grade silk - more like very thin foam, with no frayed edges.

Search Fifty Flowers! You can set up a consultation and the florist will look at inspo pics you send, get your budget, and how many/types of arrangements you need. She'll find you alternatives if the specific flower you want is out of season or too expensive for your budget and then give you a recipe on how to make each arrangement. They ship them to you 2 days prior so you can put them in water and they have time to "wake up". I got a quote for 7 bridesmaid bouquets, my bouquet, 13 boutonnieres, 4 corsages, 50 ft garlands, 25 centerpieces, 2 huge arrangements for wine barrels, ceremony flower petals, and cake flowers for $1300. They also give you a discount code if you do a consultation. I haven't gotten the flowers as my wedding isn't until next year but they have great reviews and the customer service is awesome!
