So I’m getting married in May, and as far as major things left to book/pay for I just have flowers. I haven’t booked a florist yet. I have one in mind if I go that route but the more i think of the money I’m spending the more I freak out a bit. Who is doing their own flowers? Real vs silk? How did...

Was the cost significantly less? I’m like the least creative person in the world and work way more than I’d like to admit so I’m just worried I’ll fail at doing my own and look like a 2 year old did it 😂

All from hobby lobby except the large blue and purple peonies I got those from amazon!! All together I spent about 400$ on flower. But that’s all bouquets, table flowers and floating pool arrangements!!!

I thought about doing my own flowers or getting Costco flowers. I decided I wouldn’t want the stress right before my wedding of the DIY. I kept researching and contacting different florists. I ended up finding someone who does it out of her home. I told her what I would need and what I was willing to pay. She worked with me on different flowers and ways to work within my budget. Someone who works out of their home doesn’t have all the overhead costs of a typical florist.

I'm doing my own bouquets, bouts, and corsages. It honestly was a little harder than I anticipated it being but they turned out great. I got all my stuff from Michael's during a door buster sale. I think for what we wanted (2 bouquets, 5 bouts, 5 corsages) we were getting quotes everywhere from $200-$1,000. Which was entirely too much. I spent $38 on materials and about 2 hours in assembly.

We saved by only hiring a florist for wedding party flowers. Other than that, we made flowerless centerpieces ourselves.

I got married last May and we used Flora Collective. Admittedly it took a little while (so I wouldn't use it if you're later in the planning process), but we came in under budget.
