Flowers in my hair: real or fake

The New Mrs Seedes, on May 6, 2011 at 1:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

I know I want to wear some type of a flower in my hair. I just can't decide what kind: real or fake.

I plan on wearing my hair to the side in a curly bun (does that even make sense?) When I tried my gown on the girl did my hair that way and then put a comb that had 3 roses on it. It matched my dress beautifully. It really helped sway me to buy my dress.

OR

Do I want to wear a hot pink gerber daisy in my hair? These are the flowers that I will be carrying in my bouquet? I can't seem to decide. Opinions please!

I was in a wedding and all of the BM's and the bride had a real white flowersr that was glued onto a comb. It was really pretty but throughtout the day the flowers started to wilt, this did not look good in the pics. So I would suggest fake flowers.

My florist told me to go with fake flowers for the hair, real flowers will die (unless your having a very short ceremony/reception) and who wants dead flowers in their hair??!?!? I really really dislike fake flowers so found the most real ones I could on Etsy, here's the link. I have not received them yet but I also ordered BM, MOB, MOG, Step MOG, and a couple friends so they better turn out! This vendor has a lot of really great reviews! Here's the flower I'm having in my hair, in the picture the flower is actually on a cake but she's making into a hair flower. *all her other pictures have pearls in the middle which I didn't want.

I did fake but a good expensive fake. My wedding is outside by the water in June so I was not having some droopy/ wilted flower stuck in my hair all day.

I am so glad I asked. I never thought about the real flower wilting. I don't want a dead flower in my hair. Lol.

Now I need go decide...gerber daisy (to match the flowers I am carrying) white or pink?

    Or

Roses? My dress has small rose details on it under the bust and on the train.

I am still undecided on if my girls are wearing flowers in their hair or not.

I used to be able to make decisions so easily now I can't seem to make any decisions about anything! What has happened to me?!

Im doing fake....the pic shows the flower in the wrong spot (it will be lower towards the nape of my neck and adding two more flowers for more fullness). I went on esty and got them custom made. I can wear them again later if I want to.

I am 99% sure it is the same dress. Chiffon, DB, and ultra comfy. It has rose detailing down the back. I have a train and I can't tell in your pics if you do as well. I love it.

It comes in a train....but I ordered it without one. Im so short that my seamstress is creating a sweep train in the back for my garden wedding in 29 days! Smiley smile

I'm definitely going to echo the rest of the ladies here -- choose fake flowers over the real for the hair! Smiley smile

My Mom makes them all the time with silk flowers and she even glues some crystals in the middle to make it more like hair jewelry....isn't everything better with bling? Or is that a Southern thing only? LOL You can custom make your own and have fun maybe make some for your bridal party too the little alligator clips work great and lay flat in the hair under the flower.

THanks Jennifer! My only isue is that I have bangs, so it will be this style with bangs.

The Frog.....I agree. My star peridots are also on my bouquet and matche the peridot jewelry I am wearing.
