Flowers- Mixing real and fake

Hayley, on August 8, 2016 at 9:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

Hi everyone. I'm DIY'ing the flowers for the centerpieces and decor. I definitely plan on using real flowers in the centerpieces and bouquets (those are being made by the florist). We will be having greener and flowers mixed into the drapper on the walls and mantle. Would it be okay to use fake flowers in those or will it look silly? We don't need to have flowers mixed into the greenery but I thought it would be a nice touch and the fake flowers would save some money. What is your opinion?

This is kind of an example of what I am talking about mixing the greenery with the fabric

We're having real for the centrepieces and bouquets. I have a few small decorations where I'm using fake flowers. I figured they're small details and it's nice because I can finish those DIY projects in advance. The only thing I'm worried about is it not 100% going with the florists flowers, but I'm hoping as it's in the same colour family it will be okay anyway.

The bulk of my centerpieces will be fake flowers that the decorator owns, however I will be purchasing flowers from sams club for some memorial arrangements and whatever is leftover she will be incorporating into the centerpieces. I think it will look fine and most people will not notice anyway!

Oh good! I'm glad i'm not the only one!! I figure no one will look closely at those decor elements. And i'm using Sam's Club also. My centerpieces aren't super flower heavy so I don't think they'll be difficult to assemble.
