I am a graduate student and I live in South Florida. I was not crazy about flowers until I started planning my wedding. The lowest estimate for flowers I got (of 2) was $2,000 I find this crazy for something that will get thrown out the next day. Please help! I like taller arrangements and branches...

The lowest estimate for flowers I got (of 2) was $2,000 I find this crazy for something that will get thrown out the next day. Please help! I like taller arrangements and branches so I don't know if that is a problem but I really don't care what type of flowers. Will need around 11 centerpieces and there are 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Before I blew our budget, we were only going to spend $2100 and in San Diego and what I wanted was a steal!

    -1 Brides Bouquet $100 (1 complimentary toss)

    -5 Bms Bouquets $45 each

    -5 GM Bouts $8 each

    -Additional bouts (2 ushers, 1 grandpa, 1 dad, 2 RB) $8 each

    - 4 corsages $15 each

    - 2 FG mini bouquets $10 each

    Ceremony:

-1 archway arrangement for gazebo and to be transferred to our sweetheart table (will post pic) $200

    - 6 Arrangements in clear glass and mercury glass to be hung down your aisle with trailing ribbons. These arrangements to be moved to the "bird cage" reception tables to accent the arrangements. $25 each

    Reception:

    - 4 @ $85 each - An elegant, draping garden arrangement with white, ivory flowers, blush pink and light peach flowers including hydrangea, roses of various sizes, dahlias, astible, dusty miller, and various greens to be placed on top of a mercury glass pillar with two smaller bud-like arrangements to accent-

-6 @ $50 each- An elegant garden arrangement with white, ivory flowers, blush pink and light peach flowers including hydrangea, roses of various sizes, dahlias, astible, dusty miller, and various greens to placed inside of a bird cage with flowers and greens "growing out." the aisle arrangements from your ceremony will be moved to accent the birdcages.

With all of this it might seem expensive, but she does gorgeous work! My wedding planner uses her a lot so she gets great deals.

Then I went and decided I LOVE flowers and this appeared on my quote:

    -Head Table "Chandelier" Arrangment

A stunning, show stopping display of florals including white, ivory, blush pink and light peach flowers including hydrangea, roses of various sizes, dahlias, astible, dusty miller to be arrangement above the entirety of your 24 foot long table. $1500.00, but she is also adding various heights of pillar candles and to arrangements to cover the display bar that is holding it up on the tables (3 of them).

This is our Bridal party table, so it's a Kings table, but were having a sweetheart table across from it because we won't fit. We still need to include the florals for the cake, belly bar tables, gift, escort card, tables.

So, before I went nuts we actually were given an amazing deal. The first price I gave you was included with tax and set up/delivery.

We're going to a farm! See if you have a local farm flower shop. Ours will be about $850.00 for everything, delivered and set up. Since there is no third party vendor costs, sometimes they do it cheaper! I know on the west coast of Florida there are all kinds of farm steads and such, I don't know about your area?

That's a steal! I've needed a bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, 6 centerpieces, 1 Garland, and 2 rows of tall greens for the aisle and my quotes have been around 3000

I really want to order flowers and greenery wholesale from Sam's club but I'm scared because I cant visualize stem count or bunches and I dont want to under order/not have enough on the day of my wedding. Do you know of any way I can imagine how much space it will take up if I order like 10 bunches or like 100 stems of italian ruscus, or panda anemone flowers? You seem knowledgeable

    Hi Grace,

First off, congratulations! Second...I haven't been on this site in FOREVER! What a blast from the past. It took some digging, but I have a picture of what my house looked like when all the flowers arrived.

Pictured here are:100 Carnations (global rose.com)

    250 Roses (globalrose.com)

    4 Tropical Bouquets (walmart.com)

    I was able to make:

    1 Bridal Bouquet

    6 Bridal Party Bouquets

    2 Altar Centerpieces

    15 Centerpieces

and I'm not sure now many pew decorations

(Edit....I had totally forgotten I had posted this info already, LOL....it has been a long time)

I wish I had thought to take pictures of the assembly process, lol! We needed quite a bit of space to lay out all the flowers, vases, water beads, tulle, ribbon and pins. We were able to do this all at the church the day before, and my wedding planner arranged to have everything stored in the church's and reception venue's fridges. The venues were about 2 miles from each other, so bonus!

Here are some shots. My bouquets and centerpieces were fairly simple.

    Good luck!

It really depends on what city you're in... we were originally going to get married in Manhattan and flower prices were insane. We eventually decided on Atlanta and also used Flora Collective and spent $1,850. We had 20 tables and only put centerpieces on 10 (then did mason jar centerpieces with the same flowers on the rest).

Look into fifty flowers. They sell arrangements that get delivered to your home and all you have to do is get your vases, snip the ends and done. They also have full pacakges with vases.

I am getting my 7 BM bouquets, 10 boutonnieres, 25 hydrangeas for under $300. But I also think it depends on your taste in flowers.
