Flowers!

OMG why are flowers so expensive 😅. What are y’all doing about flowers? Real, faux, realistic wooden?? I cannot decide. But I also don’t want to spend an outrageous amount…

For centerpieces we are going to do plants. My friend has a business and one of her products is decorated plant pots so she is making those (I am purchasing at full price.) The wedding isn’t until 2022 so we are getting various plants started now and hopefully they will be looking good by then!
I plan to just get the bouquets from a florist. I’m trying to stick with local small businesses, BUT if it’s too expensive I am going to go with Costco for that part.

Try Costco or FiftyFlowers.com for a quarter of the price--both have ready made arrangements, boutennaires, corsages, bouquets, etc

No, they sell packages of prearranged bouquets. They come as a set with bridal, bridesmaids, bouts, corsages, and I think a couple centerpieces as well. There are two package options - I think it’s 10 pieces and 20 pieces?

I have high standards when it comes to events I host and florals are no exemption from that. I have a vision in my head and god dammit I am spending $5000 on flowers because of it! We are doing big floral arrangements for our centrepieces which will be sitting atop gold candelabra, and our bridal table will have florals running along the entirety of the top of it. It’s not cheap by some people’s standards but I managed to get about $1000+ savings by finding a supplier who was further out of the city than some of the others.

Same here! I'm spending over $4000 on flowers and some people think I'm insane because flowers just die. However, flowers will be the main decor for my wedding and I have a certain "modern" look that I'm going for. Wood and silk flowers (check out Ling's Moments) are definitely cheaper, but I'm not a fan of how they look.

We’re renting silk florals for our elopement from Wedding Flowers for Rent. I’m spending $145 (shipping included) for a 81” custom floral garland, a small bouquet, a boutonnière, and cake florals. I get to keep the cake florals which will be arriving soon (July wedding), but everything else has to be returned.

I agree! I just couldn't find fake flowers that were of good enough quality to use so here we go splurging on real flowers Smiley tongue

One of my closest friend is doing our florals but I was shocked by how cheap our quote was to be honest - I know how much she said she'd have needed to quote our other friend if she was doing hers for retail rates and ours was stupidly below that (although we've asked for different things of course). I think honestly the price really depends on the labour involved in creating each piece and installing it, but also on the type of flowers or greenery you're including and things like if it's imported/difficult or time consuming to grow, etc.

I want big floofy trails down the tables like this:

    Flowers! 3

Then, I want really soft girly bouquets like this:

    Flowers! 4

and finally, we have a fireplace mantle in our reception venue, so we'll have an arrangement that starts out like the tables on either end but builds up into a version of the girliness in the middle to pull everything together!

Hopefully it ends up looking nice!

I'm ordering from Fiftyflowers, and plan on groupings of bud vases on each table with 3 flowers each. My primary table and centerpiece decor is candles with the flowers as accents, interspersed with mercury glass pedestal candle holders for sparkle. I love flowers as much as the next girl, but cant afford thousands of dollars, I'll be spending around $300 for 150 stems. I'm making my own brooch bouquet, which is saving a lot of money also.

We're having real flowers for the bouquets, wedding arch, groom boutonniere, centerpieces, welcome sign, aisle decor. We're using faux garland provided by our venue for the fireplace mantle! We're spending $955 for florals. I found a girl that's new to the industry, so she's very reasonable with her prices, and was willing to work with us on getting our price under $1k.

We used real flowers. I just think they look so much nicer and they always smell so good! We set a strict floral budget. I told my florist what I want and what I was willing to spend and we made it work.
