Fly Free America Vouchers...Are They Really Free?

Candice B., on January 30, 2013 at 2:15 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19

FH and I won these fly free america voucher through our photographer good for 2 free airline tickets on any airline carrier. We were thinking we could use these for our honeymoon, but I've been a bit skeptical.

Has anyone ever heard of these vouchers before? How does it work? Are the tickets REALLY free? I tried to contact customer service to see how they work, the other night, but they close at 5pm, Mon-Fri. I'm going to try again soon though.

Just wanted to see if any of you know anything or have had experience with fly free america vouchers.

I haven't heard of it but have you tried calling an airline and them? Act as though you are trying to use them to book a flight and if its ok then you're good. :-)

This is a scam! President's Tux is making it sound like you get 5 tuxes you'll receive two free airline tickets. I got my wedding party 8 tuxes and got the voucher.

Called the place and wanted to activate my tickets. I have already bought a reservation at one of their listed hotels, so I thought they would waive the $99 activation fee. Come to find out you have to reserve EVERYTHING Through them. Never stated clearly that in the terms.

Brides to be: Don't let your fiances fall for President's Tux FALSE DEAL and The SCAM of FLY FREE AMERICA!!!

This future GROOM is very upset.

Well I've been on the website because I got that offer as well, thru the photographers and president tuxedo...the woman who booked our pictures said she used it... However I don't think we will be using ours. The website doesn't give much info other than links to different hotels, when I goggled the hotels, they popped up but I haven't called them yet, it just seems to sketchy and I can't afford to get got...I haven't heard one person other than the woman who sold me the package day anything positive about fly free america.

I have done a lot of research on the company and it is NOT a scam. Yes the rates are about $299 (Caribbean and Mexico) per night for a room but if you research some of the resorts (Some are FABULOUS while some are 3 stars-do research), the price range from $160-$820 (presidential) per night PER PERSON so you really are saving a little over $1000 for the airfaire. Yes you have to book 7 nights but for a honeymoon I really would mind. You are saving money in the long run. The $99 will do toward the trip.

YES THE TERMS STATE THAT YOU HAVE TO BOOK EVERYTHING THROUGH THEM SO IF YOU DON'T IT'S TOO LATE AND YOU WILL NOT GET AIRFARE FREE. READ READ READ. IT STATES IT ALL

AHHH! BUYER BEWARE. (Sorry for all the comments above- it posted it 3 times for some reason). I want everyone to read this because I haven't seen anyone who actually understands that this IS a fake prize! @T- YES, it IS a scam! Why? Because the prices include airfare! You aren't getting anything for free- you didn't win anything! It's not just that you have to book 7 nights and have expensive hotels. They're NOT up front about the price tag. Your price INCLUDES AIRFARE. If you're going to do that, you might as well book somewhere less expensive because airfare is not paid for. You can find a cheaper travel agency to go through, which is what I am NOW doing and finding that it is much cheaper. Don't waste your time! Read the email below where they actually explain that it's not a prize. This is MY story..

Several months ago I went to a bridal show and won the "grand prize" that they give out at EVERY show- two free Fly Free America round trip plane tickets. Of course you find out there are restrictions and you have to book everything through them, but THAT is not even the worst part of all of this. Every website that complains has failed to mention that Fly Free America actually is not giving you anything at all. They are hiding it in your big price that you end up spending on their dumb company.

I kept trying to email Fly Free America (which Robert, my wonderful responder, was not so nice in his emails, telling me to try to find a better offer if I didn't like theirs). FINALLY, I was told I didn't actually win anything. All of their prices include the plane tickets so I didn't actually win anything. Brides all over have been dealing with this same fake prize, and it's disheartening. I hope the bridal shows & other companies giving out this "prize" consider changing it, as fly free America straight up said this to me...

"Dear Allie, I think the confusion is that you think you have won something. This is a discount travel program. Our prices include airfare. Shop the market and see who give you the best deal.

    Robert Palmiter

    Executive Tour and Travel Services"

... So basically the certificate is really not worth anything but is a travel discount program. Brides are paying $99 activation fee (which they won't get back and HAVE to book with them or they lose it) to end up spending more money on their hotels & restrictions when they could get a better deal elsewhere. They just think they got free plane tix when they didn't. You end up paying over $2k for a hotel and included in that price are the imaginary free plane tix when you could get all inclusive for less than that on a site like vacation express or all inclusive websites.

I actually thought I had won the "grand prize", but it turns out that they're just not up front about what they're doing. They include the plane tickets in that big price tag. Oh, and did I forget to mention that NONE of their hotels are all inclusive? You're paying up to $3k for the hotel alone (and like I said, your "free plane tickets"). Seriously, brides & grooms, please research better companies and throw out that stupid voucher. It's not worth your time or money!
