*UPDATE* Thanks for the advice. I will be going with a wood dance floor.
We are getting married on our parent's property. There is a flat grassy area where we want to put the dance floor. Question is, do you think those foam puzzle mats would make a good dance floor? It's about $150 cheaper than renting a wooden dance floor and has a wood-grain texture to look like a real wood floor. I will already be instructing our guests to wear flats (no heels) due to all the grass. Would the foam mat be hard to dance on? Would it be uneven on the grass? Would a wood floor be uneven on the grass? Has anyone had any experience with either?
