As some of you may remember, on November 16 I married my best friend AND I also found out I was pregnant. We have finally told all of our family and made an public announcement, so I thought I would circle back to give you all the details!
THE BACKSTORY: The weekend before our big day, I jokingly told my FH that I was going to take a pregnancy test the morning of our wedding because I had this idea in my head about how amazing it would be to tell him on the big day! FH was super excited at the idea and actually stopped at CVS later in the week to buy a test! Although all signs pointed to Aunt Flo showing up (as scheduled) during rehearsal, leading me to second guess wasting a very value pee stick, I finally gave in the morning of and thought "why not". So, I took the test and left it on the counter not thinking twice about it.. about ten minutes went by and as I started brushing my teeth, I remembered the test when it caught my eye.. "PREGNANT". In complete disbelief, I grabbed the test and kept searching for the words "not" in front of PREGNANT! I snapped a picture.. texted one of my BMs (and mom of 4) and asked how accurate the digital tests REALLY were.. 100% she said. Numb.. I was so numb. I would have bet money the test was going to be a negative. My BM and I formulated a plan on how to tell FH.. so she stopped at Michael's on the way to my house and bought a jewelry box, which would fit the test in perfectly. My photographer arrived about 30 minutes later and before telling her the news, I peed on another stick... PREGNANT. I pulled her to the side and whispered... so I just peed on a stick... and she instantly broke into tears. We agreed NOT to say anything to anyone, I put the test in the box and she held onto it the rest of the day. My FH was very adamant about not seeing each other before the ceremony, so the secret remained between my BM, photographer and I for the next 9hrs.. talk about painful. After the ceremony, our photographer had us slip away from the venue, where she secretly handed me the box.. I walked down to my now HUSBAND and my photographer said, "Dustin, Kiley has one last gift for you..." Standing back to back he said, "I thought we said no gifts!" In which I replied... "I can't help this one". I turned around, handed him the box and well... I'll let the pictures tell the rest!
(p.s. we had no intentions on buying the full footage from our videographer, but he caught this moment too and I can't wait to watch it!)
