Food before ceremony what are you eating/did you eat.

Monica, on July 18, 2021 at 3:16 PM Posted in Planning 1 34
What are you guys planning on eating before you start the day. My ceremony is at 2pm, dinner at 4;30. What would be a good idea to eat after breakfast & while getting ready. Something that will hold us all over until we eat later in the day.

Some of us will have makeup on I guess shouldn’t be a problem to reapply lipstick. Something all of us can snack on. I guess that would include wedding party (8 of us) plus my mom, & sister.
Pizza would be a good idea but We are having pizza as a “late night snack” around 8pm. So maybe some subway sandwiches?

We love chick fil a so much that my FH’s family promised to bring it from Denver (we only have one in our entire state!), so we can snack on nuggets 🤤

Oh you just made me think about KFC or popeyes. But thats kind of too greasy? Maybe large order of chicken tenders for all of us plus sides?

We made breakfast early in the morning and then about three hours before the ceremony, we picked up McDonalds. We got some nuggets and fries, and it was quick and easy for the two of us.

    We’re doing salads and fruit.
A giant bowl of spring mix and then bowls of grilled chicken, chick peas, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, mandarin oranges, sunflower seeds, then a bunch of cut up fruit and we will get some kind croissants or rolls or something to go with it. Then everyone can make whatever sounds best to them.
My wedding is at 4, having the girls arrive around noon and dinner is at 6:00

You gave me an idea to get a big deli platter of sandwich rolls. Im sure us girls wont mind salad, but probably not first choice for the guys.

Do you have someone able to order fast food and pick them up with your money or can you submit a large delivery order via DoorDash? Everyone submits their order on one form and one person pays so there would not be multiple orders arriving at different times. You cover the order/bill for the girls and fiancé takes care of it for the guys.

Otherwise Costco platters would work. Make sure you keep the morning alcohol to a minimum or nix it entirely because you need to hydrate with water. Coffee is good for caffeine which can again be delivered via DoorDash.

Definitely no alcohol but good idea on costco platters! That’s probably what we will end up doing. One day I will take a peak to get an idea of what options they have.

Unless their selection has changed, they have pinwheel sandwiches, regular sandwiches, muffins, danishes, fruit/veggies with dip.

Oh I agree. I just told him they have to pick their own stuff out, I will make sure it gets there. I just didn’t feel like making one more decision after all this planning. Lol

I ordered some big grazing platters - a mix of savoury and sweet, with biscuits, cheese, deli meats, dried fruits, crackers, chocolates etc.

I suppose I should organise breakfast too, maybe just grab some yoghurt and cereal or something for the others to snack on, or let someone run into town and grab something!

I had a bagel and cantaloupe while getting ready, but I was so busy I forgot/didn’t have time to eat anything else until dinner, except for a granola bar in the car in the way to the ceremony. I had wanted to order Panera.
Our ceremony was at 2:30 and dinner was at 5:15. Given my experience I’d say try to have easy snack food to nibble on throughout the afternoon. Nuts, trail mix, fruit, granola/protein bars.

Yeah!! I think we are going to pair out nuggets with fruit and that will offset the grease lol, but Chick-fil-A isn’t too greasy! I would pick a nugget over a tender because they feel less greasy even if they aren’t 🤣

You have quite a gap between ceremony and reception (unless your ceremony is an hour long). You might also want to have "snacks" on hand during this time in case you're too nervous to eat before ceremony. I agree that "light" sandwiches/salads would be best for bridal party prior to ceremony.
