Kind of both. We will be having a buffet which is usually the cheaper option but we're also going to see about customizing the options. If we can do that without going financially crazy, we'll do it. If not, we'll stick with what they originally have.

I found the food to be a splurge but the open hour is included in the cost.

Our venue includes the food so I can't really say if we splurged or saved. We've eaten there before and it's fantastic so a little of both I guess?

Save - We are having a homemade bbq buffet. My sister and I are smoking pork butt and having sides. Even with beverages, including alcohol, and dinnerware...we are only spending around $500, or $7.69/person.

Save... but the food will still be amazing. Our caterer is one of my distant family members so we're getting a great deal!

Save and splurge, our families LOVE potlucks and almost everyone already said that they wanted to bring a certain dish to share so we said that we will just have a BBQ pot luck then. So we saved on the desserts and side dishes which is allowing us to splurge on the main dish (hopefully brisket from QDoba and chicken)

I guess splurge because our caterer is included in the cost of our venue but we added an Italian Pasta Bar to tie in with our theme!

I'll say a save for food. We are going with this great BBQ place who is charging us $12 per person. Appetizers will be another $600 and they have 2 bartenders that we are using for the evening and that is $500 for both of them. That doesn't include alcohol and since we haven't bought that yet we may end up splurging on that. We have a lot of heavy drinkers among our friends and family and are so worried that we may run out. If we overbuy we'll just have to have another party so we can use it all up!

Tacos and most likely brick oven pizza and salads, an ice cream truck, and a bar food truck!

Both? It all tasted amazing and everyone loved it, but it was still way under our budget for food.

Save. we are doing a mini pot luck and limiting desserts, plus the parents are helping with food cost.
