"Splurging" in the sense that we have a minimum f&b amount that is higher due to our wedding being during a holiday weekend and we aren't inviting a ton of people. We're going to beef up with great apps, most likely plated meals (although maybe not!), and local craft beers. F&b is important to us so we were OK with the minimum amount. We also have a free hot chocolate bar that was included as a promo.

Save because it ended being 10% off if we used the Cater that owns our venue. They’re good is amazing too.

Neither splurge or save: we are getting a great deal with the venue I feel it is appropriately priced for a buffet dinner

Food is something people have a tendency to remember! We splurged a bit to have the slightly better meal options. We had a buffet station, a few delicious passed hors d'oeuvres, some extra desserts aside from cake and late night snacks at our wedding. I wanted the good food not just for us but for my guests! And people raved about it. My husband's company had their Christmas party at the venue we had our wedding at about 2 weeks after our wedding and the people that attended our wedding said our food was much better! I think if you don't plan to eat much or aren't much of a foodie, you can certainly save on the food.

Kind of both? Our venue is all-inclusive and that was the biggest part of our budget but when we realized how under budget we were after changing from an open bar to just beer and wine we upgraded to the middle package for food. We get more apps and main course options that way.

We haven't confirmed anything yet but we are looking at ahi tuna wantons, jerk chicken skewers, and mac and cheese croquettes for apps and chicken piccata, oven roasted salmon, and a prime rib carving station for the entrees.

That sounds delicious! Did you have a food tasting at your venue?

Hmmm. We want to have a taco truck. So I'm not really sure where that falls compared to other types of catering. We don't want a full sit-down meal. We will have a bride cake and groom cake...possibly some other finger foods (fruits, veggies, crackers, etc.).

Both? It came in right at what we budgeted but the food we were able to pick is absolutely delicious and we were able to choose passed appetizers during cocktail hour.

Save. I’m asking certain friends and family to bring finger foods.

Both. It is possible to get delicious quality food without breaking the bank. Plus at the end of the day, people say they remember food/drink, hospitality and entertainment over anything else.
