Can I just have Little Ceasars Hot N Ready Pizza for my wedding food? Hahaha Jk but On a serious note. Is cocktail hour a thing or is that just something rich people do?

Yeah, most venues include cocktail hour in the budget. Each package usually gives you choices of what type of food you want to include.

Since we we have a few kids at our wedding we opted to have one of the stations with mini sliders, pulled pork sandwiches, mini hotdogs & waffle fries. But I think my FH picked it primarily for himself, not the kids. Haha

Lol “something rich people do” 😂 I love it. But you have no idea how excited I would be to walk into a wedding a finding out dinner is a pizza buffet 😍 DO IT!

Hmm alcohol is going to run up your bill pretty high! You have a few options.

    1. Get your photos done before the ceremony, then you don’t even have to do a cocktail hour because you’ll go straight into dinner.
    2. Beer & wine only, ask around, even some restaurants will rent out their bartender.
    3. Skip the alcohol. Guests just need to be fed, alcohol would be nice but if it’s not in the budget then cut it.

If your vendor allows you to bring your own food, Costco has tasty party trays for cheap. Nice chips n’ dip, fruit and veggie trays and meats and cheeses. You can get a fruit tray for $10 there. I’m going to get because my caterer is allowing it as long as it’s unopened when she sets up.

We went to a wedding that did party mix, pretzels, popcorn, and m&ms during cocktail hour. They just had them in big bowls and people helped themselves. I assume it was really affordable and it was a hit with the guests! They had it in the same area as the bar. Another wedding we went to just did chips and salsa/guac. It doesn't have to be passed apps/fancy.

We're not spending a ton of money on our cocktail hour. But we do want to have something for people to snack on whIle we're taking pictures. Our venue is doing trays of cheese, fruit and crackers, super simple because dinner will be starting almost right after that.

I totally feel you! Not just the cocktail hour, the whole menu itself! Most venues come with all inclusive packages with meals that high class rich people would eat like salmon and chicken filet and hour’s dovr like whattttt? My family is satisfied with a taco guy lol

Lol! Def not just rich folks! We are having a cocktail hour and serving fried green tomatoes and cheesesteak sliders! We are both from Pa, but we met, and we live in the South, so its a mix of the two. We will also have our mobile bar set up there, its a refurbished horse trailer called Unbridled bar! One of our signature cocktails is called the Yankee Sunshine. We are doing most pictures before the ceremony so we get to enjoy cocktail hour with our guests, and I am seriously so excited!

You can do signature drinks, wine ect.
We're having 2 signatures drinks, wine
and beer. Which was cheaper then open bar
with hard alcohol. Talk with a bartender they'll
    make great suggestions.
