For a Nightmare Before Christmas Wedding Theme

Amy, on April 7, 2016 at 11:57 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

Hey ladies, my wedding colors are black, purple, and white and I was wondering if tiny black table top Christmas trees would be a good idea for my centerpieces?

It's your wedding so go with what you want. It's not my stye but its also not my wedding. I would consider whether or not people will be able to see across the table for conversation purposes.

I would reconsider and add simple touches, like the cake topper. I think a Christmas tree as a centerpieces is a little overboard. How tall is that?

Like Kathryn said it is usually best for "themed" weddings to be subtle touches throughout. The colors are a good start. A friend of mine actually had a Nightmare Before Christmas theme as well, and had the cake very decorative but most of the other things were only color-based.

Like 2 feet. People shouldn't have trouble seeing.

Eh. I think there are better ways to include jack then a black Christmas tree. It's going to be easy to over the top with this. Subtle touches are the way to go.

If you could find even smaller trees and decorate them, I think it could ne cute. But I agree; themes are best when executed with subtlety

There are some really cool ideas out there for this theme! You could also do a really cool cake or cake topper.

Somebody else once suggested that, if you do a theme (like Nightmare before Christmas), you should rather plan the way Jack and Sally would decorate their wedding. How about black and white striped table runners, and decor elements with spirals? Also, here's a pinterest board that could help you:

ETA: if you're also looking for music, this is a string-quartet version of the soundtrack: http://www.vitaminstringquartet.com/best-sellers/nightmare-before-christmas.html

I would reconsider any centerpieces over 16 inches. As a guest, I'm short, and I would be so annoyed having to creep around a tree to talk to someone.

Unless your dress is pieced together like Sally's, the best thing you can do is add subtle touches of your theme.

I would consider a floral centerpiece with colors that work with your theme with maybe some Jack face accents tucked in, if that makes sense.

PW had a bride with a Nightmare Before Christmas themed wedding that was one of my all time favorite themed weddings. This was her cake:
