Looking back at your wedding day, what do you wish you could have changed? Aside from things out of your control, what advice do you have moving forward? Whether it was something no one advised you of during planning or something worked great for someone else’s crowd and was a dud with yours, etc. ...

My venue was also a hotel and turnkey—trust me that their coordinator does not substitute for a DOC and neither can a non-professional friend. There were several minor slip ups during my day that the venue coordinator did not prevent that a DOC would have.

Great advice. Yes I have heard that a venue coordinator is really only concerned with whether you are are following their policies or not, not your event. A day of coordinator sounds like the best investment.

You really have no way of knowing for sure how people will be. But it sounds like a great time regardless

I can completely understand this. Growing up, I remember family videos being taken all the time and some of those people are long gone so the video is great for reliving those times that photo doesn’t quite capture.

This is such good advice. We had a mini-elopement/legal ceremony last spring due to Covid but are doing our wedding celebration this spring instead. Our guest list is pretty small (we anticipate about 60 people) but we do have a number of guests that are either "my" friends or "his" because we grew up and went to college in different areas. I'm going to keep this in mind.
