For the well endowed girls...

Jillian, on September 5, 2014 at 3:24 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 18

Hey ladies! So, I'm getting married next September, but I'm getting everything prepared as we speak! I do have a question though: I'm a 46 H cup size (yes, that is my real bra size lol).. Where would I go or what website would I go to find a good strapless bridal bra to wear under a dress?

You may be able to have a bra built-in to your dress. Sorry, that's all I got.

I am definitely NOT well-endowed so I'm not sure about specific bridal bras you should get BUT the lady that did my alteration sewed my cups directly into my dress do you think that would help?

I have a bra built into my dress but let me tell you it won't hold the girls up. I'm a 38F but can get by with a 40DDD. I found mine at Belk. I don't know where you are though. They are in the south only I believe. Dillards is where I normally go for bras. You might also want to try hipsandcurves.com They have some awesome things there and are great to deal with.

I went to Nordstroms and they found a strapless bra which fit nice and was comfy but the long line bra I got at Davids bridal fit well too so try both places?

Okay, I'm not quite THAT well-endowed, but I'm a DD, and the best strapless bra I've found so far was at Frederick's of Hollywood. I don't know what they have as far as bras specific for wedding dresses, but I know when it comes time to buy a bra to wear with my dress I'll be shopping there. It's on the pricey side, but not super-expensive (comparable to Victoria's Secret).

I usually use Lady Grace but my dress store (Alfred Angelo) was able to order my strapless bra for me. They have many sizes to choose from. I think any bridal store that has plus size dresses should also have strapless bras that should accommodate your "girls".

    I'm a 42F, so I'm with ya Smiley smile

Big Girl Bras has several strapless options in your size, including a plain one http://www.biggerbras.com/elila-plus-size-bras/elila-strapless-longline-bra-6421.shtml?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=ELA-6421&gclid=CLPNzvfnysACFQto7AodgXgAcA , and a white lace one http://www.biggerbras.com/elila-plus-size-bras/elila-lace-strapless-longline-bra-6621.shtml that looks very bridal, and 2 regular strapless ones http://www.biggerbras.com/goddess-full-figure-plus-size-bras/goddess-marilyn-underwire-strapless-bra-6120.shtml and http://www.biggerbras.com/elila-plus-size-bras/elila-microfiber-spacer-molded-strapless-bra-4820.shtml that the seamstress could either sew into the dress or set in with snaps (so you can remove it to wear later, that will minimize slippage. You don't want to be tugging at the dress all day, so my recommendation is to get the bra early, and wear it around and see how it feels, and also see if you find yourself tugging it up in the back - if you're tugging it under a teeshirt, you'll be tugging it in your gown.

There's also a very sexy option - http://www.biggerbras.com/elomi-bras/elomi-maria-underwire-basque-style-el8502.shtml?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=EOI-EL8502&gclid=CMOlxbnpysACFVQV7AodM3wAMQ in cream or black, if you're looking for a little something that's beyond 'functional' Smiley winking

You could try looking at Lane Bryant, online or in-store if there's one near you, They're a store that caters to full figured women. I think their Bra sizes go up to 54, not sure if they have strapless though.

Agree with the others - Nordstrom is a great option... may be pricey, but great return policy, too. LaneBryant carries 46H, but in strapless/longline only up to 46DDD. Frederick's doesn't have 46H in strapless Smiley sad

Get it built into your dress. Strapless bras are useless in that size.

Duct tape. Lean forward, and tape away. Not the most comfortable or pretty, but it works and keeps them happy. (Only DDD here but think sticky boobs to the extreme, may i suggest putting a barrier between the sensitive parts you're taping from personal experience)

I had the same question! Thanks for the options for the 'girls'. I am well endowed but have a small rib-cage (34G) so the Lane Bryant options and the like won't work. I will have to ask at my bridal appointments what the stores have and check out the department stores. Have any of the other well-endowed ladies looked at dresses with open backs? I love the look but am afraid I won't be able to find a bra to support me while I dance the night away. FMIL seems to think I will be alright but as much as I love her, this isn't something I can trust her opinion on as she is a part of the itty-bitty-titty-committee. :-P

Doesn't your bridal store have a recommendation? I'd wait until you buy your dress and see what they suggest. Mine even had some options there for me

I'm an E-cup. I bought mine at a place called Top Drawer lingerie. They may have a website!

Wacoal is the best for we big breasted women. I'm a 42G. I found a strapless from them that fits like a charm. If you have a Nordstrom's near you, go there. They are expensive, but the absolute best place ever for bra shopping if you have big boobs. I treat my bra fittings like a day at the spa. You actually should have a consultant. If they don't have what you need, they will order it.
