For those brides doing the dollar dance! What are the guests putting money in?

I have been trying to think about what the maid of honor and best man will be holding to put the money in? I want to make something but I don't know if I should do a bag, jar basket, or a decorated box? Anybody made anything or seen cute things used?

In South Dakota all of the weddings that I have been to have had dollar dances. Guests love the chance to steal the bride or groom away for a dance Smiley smile

At my cousin's wedding, the Maid of Honor and Best Man both held hats, and another one I went to had jars. Good luck!

Omg michelle shut the fuck up! you preach about being proper and all that other crap, but you are the worst of all! Didn't you ever learn, if you have nothing to say then keep your mouth shut? You should try it because no one gives a flying fuck what you think. Yes I used the F work multiple times. You are so annoying.

I am from St. Louis and most/nearly all weddings I have been to have them. I had not thought about what to put the cash in. Just another thing to add to the list. LOL

In my culture people pin the money on you. Personally I wouldn't want holes in my pretty dress. I would suggest those small clothes pins the ones they usually use them for baby shower games.

Do you have a theme picked out? If you're going vintage, a bird cage would be really cute...I know a lot of people do the thing where they pin the money on, but personally I'd be slapping people for putting holes in my dress...

I wasn't sure about it, but my mom was telling me how people expect it so we're doing it...

This is a tradition in my mom's country. I think they use a purse or actually pin the money. I can't remember exactly.

Seriously, MICHELLE.... This is a tradition thing, not always about etiquette.

Just because you don't agree doesnt mean you have to be a snot-butt

I've never seen it done, so I wouldn't know for sure... but I would imagine a cute basket would do the trick, then make sure someone puts the funds into a safe or at least a secure place until the end of the night (likely with your card box somewhere).

@ Bennett, "Hey Michelle, what's your avatar advertising for?"

I'm pretty sure it's a call to donate blood. But it's unclear if we are donating blood to save lives, or if it's because Michelle feeds on it.

My money is on Michelle is a vampire.

My parents said that at their wedding they took one of bride's shoes and one of the groom's shoes. Probably wouldn't be very comfortable if you were outside or in heels though!

Isn't asking to donate blood the same as asking to dontate money. I think she broke Some kind of etiquette here

So in the Mexican culture (at least in our families) guests pin the money onto the bride and groom's attire, using tiny pins. I was worried about it ruining my dress but when I went to do my alterations, I realized its the same pins they were using on my dress so we will prob go with that. My cousin used a purse and everyone thought it was odd. But pinning money on the bride and groom is normal lol again, it's all about traditions

Money dance is normal around here, FH wants to do it and I don't care either way so I guess we will lol. At my uncle's wedding we just handed the cash to them, he shoved it in the pocket of his suit jacket...I don't know what his wife did to hers though...I hadn't thought where to put my money until I saw this post so now I have something to think about lol.

Also, FH and I had the cheesy idea that we will mark the inside of 2 of the little favor boxes with something like a gold star sticker and the two people who find them can go first for the money dance for free. Just something we thought people would find fun.

Its a tradition in our area as well.. we will be doing it as well but the money will be placed in the card box and more than likely one of my bridesmaid and mother in law will take charge on this..

My FH and I will be doing the money dance as well its cultural for me. I probably will be doing a small bag instead off pin the money to my dress.. But my relatives will probably find it wear as well. Lol. .

I dont understand why someone has to be rude about some things here . Even if its Etiquette or not. There's different cultures that do things differently.
