Just Said Yes August 2020

For those brides who decided to postpone their wedding, which month did you postpone to?

Kathy, on March 14, 2020 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

My wedding is in May and I'm most likely going to postpone it, but don't know when. I've been reading a few different articles that suggest the cases will continue to go up and peak in June/July time frame before going down again. I would hate to postpone it until say July/August, and then have to postpone again!

We were supposed to be April 4th, but with the uncertainty of travel and the possible risk- plus my FH's niece has been put in quarantine due to her teacher testing positive and would not be able to attend - we decided to move the date. My gut instinct is that things will be alright during the summer, but I could be wrong. We moved our date to August so we could have the family that would otherwise have to cancel. If we prove to be wrong, we'll probably have a much smaller wedding with whoever can make it lol. I don't want to postpone again. Our vendors were all understanding, and they let us keep our plans without charging more. Think we need to sit back and breathe- its speculation rn. Our wedding was way too close and way too risky, and August was a good compromise for us.

I'd suggest asking your vendor for plan b dates, then playing it by ear. We have no idea what's going to happen, so the best thing to do is breathe and wait it out.

Honestly I think you’ll be totally fine in May. The whole reason why people are having to cancel is because their wedding is now. My wedding is April 18th and we’re not having to postpone or cancel. I think it’ll be able to be contained and we will be just fine in a few weeks!

I would postpone to July or August, it should be fine by then! It’s like a flu, of course there will still be cases in the summer but once “flu season” ends it shouldn’t be a pandemic anymore

I’ve heard the same as Gen, that the heat is supposed to help kill the virus so hopefully the situation will improve.

Yeah China only has 47 cases right now so seems like we’ll probably recover in similar time. Trump’s press conference yesterday predicted things would be back to normal in 8-9 weeks. I hope they’re right!
