For those of you that had the I Spy game or have been to a wedding with it

Jessie, on May 6, 2013 at 2:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Did guests actually upload their pictures? If you've been to a wedding with the I Spy game, did you participate and upload the pics? I LOVE the idea of this game but I'm wondering if people really upload them...

Sorry I should have explained it! The bride and groom come up with a list of things people are supposed to take pictures of and then upload to a website provided by the bride and groom so all of the guests can go on and look at everyone else's pictures. Here's a sample of what an I Spy card would look like:

Eh. My cousin did this at her wedding with disposable cameras. Open bar led to two cameras full of drunk pictures with my cousins and brothers and sisters. We didnt follow the "i spy"

Turns out all of the cameras got something spilled on them on the way home so they couldnt get them disposed anyway haha.

We thought about doing the I Spy thing, but decided 1) it wasn't worth the hassle and 2) it would probably just distract from the dancing and socializing. One thing I do intend to do is to include the following note at the botton of our programs: "for those who use instagram, plus use #mynamehisnamewedding so that we can easily view the pictures" or something like that. I also considered going the total opposite approach and asking for an unplugged wedding/ceremony, but decided that was too much work as well. If you can't beat em, join em!

I heard of the I spy game too.. I was considering it but I think I will just only do the Instagram with our hash tag name.. It's easier and I don't need to add a lot to my list.

I am going to try it, but not sure how it will turn out. I won't be providing disposable cameras though, I will just have them use their phones or their own cameras. I am also creating a hash tag for instagram.

I'm doing the I Spy game for the kids. As an adult, I wouldn't want to do it.

I'm doing it and with disposable cameras. We will be outdoors and only have 5 tables lol just a steel drum guy so the distraction will be appreciated lol

I'm doing an I Spy for our wedding on 5/18. I figured there are so many folks with cameras on their phones, that we'll hopefully get lots of pics. I'm providing them with my I Spy list and our Instagram hashtag as well as the wedding website & email address for them to upload or send pics. We also have a few dedicated friends/family that volunteered to bring their cameras to help out (since we don't have a pro photographer). We're also setting up our own photo booth with props that should be fun.

Thanks for the input! I want to do an instagram also but I know most of our aunts/uncles (which make up a good part of the guest list) won't even know what instagram is lol. Also, a lot of aunts/uncles don't have facebook in our family so I thought it would be a good way for them to see pictures too.

If I do I Spy I won't provide the disposable cameras since most guests will have phones with cameras. I didn't even think about it taking away from dancing but thought it might be fun for a ice breaker at the tables, maybe something to do when they first sit down and are waiting for things to get started? Hmm I'm still undecided...I guess I'll see if I have time to put it together that way if no one uploads I won't be too disapointed! Thanks everyone!

I think we are doing it. Just got to figure out how to make the on VistaPrint haha. I think its a good idea. I was thinking about just putting a few on each table and mainly do it with the guest, not so much me and the groom. I have heard nothing but good ideas. I want to make my own. I don't think it will take away from dancing and stuff. My only downside is i don't want a lot of people on their phones so we might just do a handful of the " I spy"

Oh yes! Do leave the pro's you hire off the list. You don't want anything to distract them from doing what you are paying them to do!!! We are happy and used to being in the background and anyone focusing on us would throw us off for sure!

If you keep the list short and fun, then it could be in teams where first table to finish gets the first trip to the buffet, then the next table and so on.. Who gets to go first is always a groaner, so a little friendly competition let's them earn the honor.
