For those of you who are NOT doing rustic/burlap, what are you doing?

It seems like a lot of brides HATE the rustic/barn/lace/burlap/mason jar thing. This is however very common around where I live because unless you have a wedding at the very high end country clubs, you are sort of stuck with barn venues (lots of cornfields, lots of barns). I am just curious what your theme is? Are you against the "theme" thing all together?

We arent really tied to a theme. We are doing white fuscia and oranges with feathers and flowers. Our venue is a nicer venue with lights on the ceiling with fabric.

Vintage garden wedding? We're getting married out side in a rose garden and our reception is being held in the private room of an exclusive restaurant which has an old world vibe. Our colors are gold (champagne) and creams with a hint of blush and misty blue. We are incorporating lace here and there (but no burlap or mason jars), chandeliers, pearls, flowers everywhere, and birdcages (only a few as centerpieces).

We are having a spring/nature theme I guess, lots of pink and green flowers, candles, outdoor ceremony, pavilion reception, men wearing tan vests and pants instead of a tux. It's just stuff we both like , we didn't really have a theme in mind going in.

We are very loosely doing a hawaiian theme.... no crazy hawaiian shirts or anything but tropical flowers and bright colors. Our wedding colors are a bright ocean blue and a lime green color, with a little purple for an accent color. We are having a pigroast for dinner!

Well, we were originally doing 'vintage'...but it's more like glitzy vintage now. Pink & mint colors... lots of lace, old glass bottles... glitter.. Smiley smile

I am totally not against the theme thing and think the rustic theme is super cute. We , however are not really having a themed wedding it is at a botanical garden so we are just going to emphasize the beauty the garden already has so i guess if you had to put a name to it it would be romantic garden - ish?

I'm making mine up and calling it "Autumn Night" mostly because we'll have a lot of candles, lanterns, and gold acorns & leaves strewn about. Not sure if that's considered a theme, but it's just our decor of choice. Gold accents with plum for November.

We're not really doing a theme. I've used lots of lace and pearls throughout some of my decor, but that's only to play up the lace/pearls/rhinestones in my dress on my one strap. We are keeping everything clean and simple.

My main flower is a sunflower, though, and as soon as I say that around here people think I'm doing some sort of rustic theme and suggest adding burlap and making it all rustic-like (probably because it's sooo overdone here). Uhh no. I like the flower, it's cheap, and it's in our color scheme. That's all there is too it. Don't rustic-up my wedding when I don't want it to be.

We are having ours outdoors at a historic village museum (30s and 40s) and basically having a 50s picnic complete with food cart catering and lawn games. Although many people have suggested we go the burlap route we are keeping clear.

"What's your theme?" Hardest question for me to answer.

The ceremony will be on a golf course in Scottsdale...very simple and romantic.

As for the reception, half of the tables will have white table cloths, the other half will have silver sequin. All tables will have spandex white chair covers. White hydrangea and dusty miller centerpieces on the silver tables, more dramatic purple orchid centerpieces on the white tables. The guys will be in dark grey suits, the girls will be in "victorian lilac" chiffon. Dark teal accents throughout.

My venue automatically comes with a theme since its an aquarium. So I e got an undersea theme" with elegant bling touches. I'm trying not to overdo the starfish and seashells everywhere since that's clearly a given.

I really am over what the "rustic" thing has become, too. I really don't think of lace as rustic though, I'm not sure how lace and rustic got put together. I hate burlap!

We are having a vintage/old-fashioned wedding, which is definitely my personality. And very southern. I have a cathedral veil and I'm wearing my blusher down the aisle...it's just what I always envisioned. The small wooden chapel, made from repurposed wood from other churches in the area, with huge antique windows and stained glass windows, the glass-enclosed pavilion, and tent are all on the same property. It is woodsy and very secluded, there is a lake. It's beautiful. Rural South Carolina, but only about 45 min from the bigger city where I live.

A lot of white, blush accents, lace wedding gown, lace linens, old books (anyone who knows me knows I have amassed a library of hundreds of books...it's just who I am), mismatched wine bottles, glass bottles/jars, and china including teacups, all white flowers like peonies, roses, and tulips. Very southern. Candles in the chapel and reception space.

We are having an Italian buffet because FH and I both love Italian and it's simple but delicious. I'm excited about the antipasta during the cocktail hour. Probably not awesome with our "southern charm" decor...but who doesn't love Italian? And I didn't want to do typical southern food like BBQ or something. The other idea on the table is breakfast for dinner. We both love breakfast foods.

NO burlap, mason jars, or boots.

Ehhh....romantic storybook ish with sparkles and sequins? Does that count??Haha. I have a princess ball gown, our colors are gray, coral and white. We have lanterns as centerpieces with sequined table runners. I didn't want to go with a big theme and limit myself, I just went with what I like! Oh, and what FH likes...not really..he would've chose camo...smh

No real theme, just incorporating hummingbirds into our color scheme/decor. Colors are burgundy with emerald accent.
