For those of you who ordered invitations from Vistaprint...

What did you do about inner envelopes?? (I know I'm a long ways away from needing to order invites...just trying to plan ahead.)

Do you mean like adding a pocketfold or something?

@jewles I know when you order invitations from Vistaprint they come with normal envelopes, but what about the inner envelope where you just write the names of the guests invited?

You could buy envelopes from somewhere else. I think most people that order from vistaprint just skip the inner envelopes.

@Natalie If I skip the inner envelope, where would I let them know they can bring a guest? (without having to do RSVPs that say "we have reserved ___ seats for you"...)

You could write "and guest" on the outer envelope. If you are concerned about it or if you have a lot of guests where there are kids in the household that you are or aren't inviting, I would suggest buy envelopes. But for my guest list inner envelopes aren't really needed for most of the guests.

I made my own invites. I ordered from folders from cardsandpockets.com. the prices were really good. I sent about $120.00 total 100 invites and they would have cost me upwards of $500. If I ordered elsewhere.

I skipped doing inner envelopes. I addressed the outer one to everyone invited, and also addressed the RSVP cards (instead of leaving a blank, I wrote everyone's name in). That way people can't forget to fill their names in.

I did vistaprint for invites (but not their invites). I printed rack cards and little lodging business cards from them on it with our contact info too. I ordered envelopes from envelope.com and ordered rsvp post cards (I wanted a special size) from 123 print.

Actually, I dont think I have ever received a wedding invitation with an inner envelope, it seems like a wasted envelope to me.

I didn't do inner envelopes. If you wanted to, you could use theirs as the inner envelopes and then get larger outer envelopes.

I just got my invitations from vistaprint and am skipping the outer envelopes. FYI, I upgraded to the slightly nicer envelopes with our return address printed on the flap and a little design matching the invites, so it felt silly to hide the return address and design that I paid extra for in another plain outer envelope that was of slightly poorer quality. I'll be doing mine similar @Monana, who had a couple of great threads awhile back about etiquette/advice on addressing less formal invitations.

P.S. When I received the package last week, they included a flyer that they will be doing a huge black Friday sale -- 60% off! Can't remember the discount code off the top of my head, but if you subscribe to their daily emails they give you a pretty good heads up of sales going on that day or week. Not as good as the upcoming 60% off, but I got everything (90ish each of invites, STDs, envelopes, return address stickers, thank you notes) for 40% off at a grand total around $175.

I decided to buy plain white envelopes from Walmart for my inner envelopes... I bought them online and had them shipped site to store so I didn't have to pay shipping. I got a box of 100 6x9 envelopes for $16.99
