For those that did your flowers yourself, where did you order them from?

Kansas, on October 30, 2019 at 4:43 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 15

Flowers are so expensive and I am trying to keep my wedding on a budget as many of as are! With that being said, where did you order your flowers from to prepare center pieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, etc. I was thinking of going with a bulk store like Sam's or Costco, but I came across Flower Moxie and I was wondering if that was cheaper/easier to do. Any input is appreciated!

I've seen really good reviews from Bouqs, Bloominous, and Fifty Flowers.

I found a local flower market shop that sells flowers and has a workspace for the setup of bouquets/ center pieces. They also had a refrigerator we were able to store everything in until the morning of the wedding. I'd check and see if you have one nearby!

Did you select a pre-prepared package or are you selecting all of your flowers as you go? I don't know what to even expect when it comes to quantity of flowers!

I am selecting the calla lily option. They come in a bouquets of 20 or 40 flowers and I'm using for my center pieces as well.

They have a consultation option where they guide you on things you will need budget.

I bought mine from Trader Joe's! Spent under $120 for 2 dozen red roses, 6 dozen white roses, I think 4 bouquets of babies breath, a spring of eucalyptus (which is super sticky by the way) and two bunches of greenery I don't know the name of...

Here are some photos! It took roughly 4 hours from start to finish due to cutting, trimming, placing and taping everything.

They turned out beautiful! You did an amazing job! How far in advance did you prepare the flowers?

Thank you! We got married August 8 and I bought/made them August 6. The woman told me to trim the stems and stick them in warm water (not hot but warm) because the stems work similar to pores and open up more in warm water for a fuller look. The flowers were perfectly how I wanted them day of!

Also, she said the warm water is just for the first time they're in water. You don't have to keep them in warm water because they won't close back up.

I am doing silk flowers and got them from amazon. Then purchased the vases from gandgwebstore.com. Figured people can take the centerpieces home and use for decor.

My fresh flowers are coming from Kroger and FiftyFlowers. The ones from FF are already arranged though, so that was a plus Smiley smile
