For those that printed addresses directly onto the envelopes...

Bee, on January 8, 2017 at 8:08 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 13

What store did you use? If you printed it at home, what printer did you use? We already have the envelopes (came with our invites) so buying them through the print services at Minted won't work. If you used staples, ups, fedex, or any retailer how was your experience? If you used your own printer, which printer did you use? We've been looking at reviews for printers but not having the best luck finding one good with envelopes. We've called a few stores around and it seems they all ship it out and we would have to buy envelopes through their stores. We aren't comfortable using our printers at work for non-work items and none of our friends own printers that work well with envelopes. This would be for recipient addresses since we have stamps for return addresses. Recommendations?

I just did this for our invitations! I used my parents printer - it's an HP photo smart 6525. Once I figured out how to set everything up on word and the printer from YouTube and tutorials, it worked really well!

As long as the printer lets you adjust the paper tray to envelope size, you're good!

Did them myself at my future in laws office who has the fancy printers and stuff.

But my favorite company is HP

Use word and set the paper layout the size of your envelope and you will be good

Make sure you have some extra ones to figure things out at first when printing

I had WPD print on ours. They have a template to add names and addresses to. The template is kind of annoying because there are separate columns for name, street, city, state, zip and I had name and address all in one cell on my excel sheet. It was about $27 to print on 85.

I used a Silhoutte Cameo to print addresses. My invites were in dark plum envelopes, and I really wanted to use metallic ink...Silhouette lets you use ANY ink color. Also ended up playing with fonts til I found a combo I loved (script for the name and serif for rest of address). Pretty easy to do though it felt a little time consuming

I just bought clear Avery labels, downloaded the template off their website and type addresses in then printed on the labels. Just let the ink dry for a minute before adhering. I still use the address template for Christmas cards and such

I did a mail merge into Publisher. I just used my printer at home, HP Envy. There was some trial and error.

I ordered invites from einvites.com. They provided the option to have it printed on the envelope. Loved it!

We just have a regular HP printer, it's nothing special. We printed directly on envelopes for our christmas cards this year and had no issues. However, those envelopes were thin and not much different thickness-wise from a standard piece of paper. If your envelopes are a thicker cardstock-like material, it might be worth it to take the envelopes somewhere and have a professional take care of it.

I have an HP Officejet Pro and used it for my save the dates and will use it for invitations. I just used the mail merge function in word and it positioned it. Make sure the tray is adjusted properly. I was going to pay to have them done but WPD template took too much time to transfer too.

Not sure what printer I have, but it's nothing special. Just a HP. As long as it has an adjustable tray it should work.
