For those who have asked....

Mrs. Clark aka Mrs Awesomepants, on April 26, 2011 at 11:38 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 16

I have been asked quite a few times how i tied/made my bouquets so I took some pics to hopefully help.

1st- flower (duh)

2nd- cut all the thorns, greenery until there is no bumps and bend it straight.

3rd- shape flower to bouquet (i also added the pearl beads on floral wire so i could shape them nto my bouquet)

Floral tape together tightly and repeat until all flowers are done

Once theyre all taped together nicely, you can put a piece of ribbon on the end to hide the stems, it will stick to the wax floral tape. a dab of hot glue will hold the end of the ribbon as you start to wrap...

Twits this side and flip to the other side and cross...do not twist....repeat to the top and tie off (bow or you can cut and make smooth lines with the hot glue)

I recommend a dab of hot glue behind each loop to prevent it from coming loose.

added detail if you like, take wire cutters and shorten corsage pins and insert at an angle on the non twisted side to prevent it from slipping out of place...and it looks pretty if you have pearls in with the flowers too...

ok that took forever but i had to redo my bouquet tonight so i figured id take pics to help the ones that asked!! hope it helps

Hayley i made the pearl loops. Just got bulk jewelry making beads from michaels on sale and floral wire.

Roses- real touch from hobby lobby. $36 for all 18.

Ribbon- $.50 a roll (still have some left)

Pearls- $3.99, used half (still have enough left for the rest of my bouquets)

    Wire-$1.99 (still have alot left)

Roughly $38-40 for mine. And the florist wanted to charge $150 for an all rose hand tied bouquet but mine wont die!

Correction, i cant count lol mine has 24 roses...just found the receipt lol so it was $40 for all 24

So mine cost about $45...still a third of what the florist wanted

OMG why didn't I think of bending the stems? It's been driving my crazy trying to not have the smashed look! Thank you!!! And the bouquets look great.

....silly question but how do you know what ones are real touch flowers?

Mine are real touch. They literally feel like real petals. Very smooth almost like wax. And the label will say real or true touch
