For those who used a wedding planner - how much did it cost you?

Debby, on August 23, 2022 at 2:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Please include location as well as I know this will vary based on that.

If you don’t mind going into detail, what have they done for you and do you feel it was worth it?

I highly recommend using WeddingWire’s vendor manager. There’s an option to narrow location and budget to fit your needs. This will give you the best idea of wedding coordinator cost in your area.
The search engine works for all types of vendors, not just coordinators.
For me being in California there’s a massive difference in costs- brides can pay anywhere from $4,000 for day of coordinator to $20,000 for complete 10 month planning and day of coordination

Los Angeles Bride here and my planner cost 15k and totally worth it. Of course you can forego a planner and enlist the support of a highly creative and organized friend. Personally I don’t know what I would’ve done without my coordinator she handled every single detail and pretty much all I have to do is show up. So yes it was worth it.

DOC - $500 in Sarasota, FL. For me, personally, I can do all the other pre-planning stuff, as I am an older bride, (been there done that LOLOL) and my FH and I are both retired - so we have the TIME to do everything. But, the day of? I want to be a BRIDE, not running around making sure vendors are happy and have everything, setting up table decor and trying to keep everyone on the timeline. So the cost is not an issue as it will be well worth it overall.

Our day-of coordinator was $1900 in Atlanta. They're really more of a month-of coordinator, because they're handling all the confirmations with vendors, putting together timelines, etc.

On the actual day they'll be communicating with the MOH/ BM to make sure everything is going smoothly, touching base with vendors to make sure everything gets set up and on time, making sure we stick to a timeline, etc.

I definitely think it was worth it to have a DOC. I'm super organized and didn't mind the planning part, but I don't want to have to try to keep track of everyone and everything on my wedding day. And honestly, while I wouldn't have minded putting together timelines and doing all the finalizing, it has been a huge stress relief to have someone else doing it for me. It's also nice to know that someone who's "been there, done that" is in charge of putting things together because they know how much time things will take, they know how to make sure things happen the way they should, etc.
