Forsyth Fountain weekday wedding

Emeline, on July 1, 2019 at 1:45 PM Posted in Georgia Planning 0 4
How busy does the fountain get during weekdays (Wednesday) in May? What is the quietest time of day during the week? Just want a quick ceremony in front of the fountain in Forsyth Park - don't want to get a permit since it will be less than 20 people and less than 15 minutes.

If you do it I may before Georgia schools let out, it’s shouldn’t be too too busy. I’d say any weekday but Friday would be pretty calm if you do it early afternoon

Thanks so much... I haven't been able to find much about busy times, etc.

Congratulations on your engagement Emeline!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

The Forsyth Fountain would be such a beautiful location for you to have your ceremony!! Do you close to it? Would it be possible to check it out on a few different das to get the feel of it during the week? I would imagine that as long as you choose a time before the schools are let out, it will be relatively quiet.

What made you choose here for your ceremony location?

Hi! So I lived in Savannah for 4 years. The fountain is a very popular tourist area. Unless you do ceremony in the morning, you will have a few people taking photos in front of the fountain (plus an occasional panhandler asking if you want him to take your photo) lol
you also will have to get city’s permission to have your ceremony there. I’ve looked it up before because I wanted to have a ceremony in one of the squares.
During my time living there I’ve seen a few weddings at Forsyth park while walking to school . It’s not a very private area. I accidentally walked in on a couple of weddings .. pretty sure I’m in their photos lol So your best bet is to get in touch with the city and see how you can block off the area so no tourists or locals are in the background.
do you live in GA? I’d suggest to travel there first and get a feel of it. Also May is super hot! Like 92-95 so keep that in mind
