Fort Lauderdale Honeymoon. Any recommendations?

Emily, on March 30, 2017 at 11:45 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

Anyone have recommendations for a good resort to stay at in Fort Lauderdale? And/or things to do in the area? Thanks in advance!

Ft. Lauderdale is really crazy. We personally just fly into there. We have family in DelRay Beach and boca raton. I would go there Smiley smile

I live in Fort Lauderdale - Below are the place I enjoy going as a local.

Resorts wise I suggest staying on the Beach. That way you can uber pretty much to the below locations and it shouldn't cost that much. I strongly suggest if it your first time in Florida to make the drive down to Miami and go to Brickell and Wynwood those two areas are amazing even if it's to walk around during the day time and enjoy the atmosphere.

    Las Olas Blvd

    - Restaurants/Bars: American Social, YOLO, Lobster bar

    - Art studios are open so you can look at different Art

Himershee Street- (Bars/Restaurants/Night life - Bars usually close by 2am)

    - Tarpon Bend and Public House

    Ft. Lauderdale Beach -

Restaurant - Sun Surf Sand (Fancy Restaurant)

Bar - Elbo Room - (looks terrible but has live music) Cash Only place.

I was also going to mention Las Olas Blvd! We live in Davie, but the church we go is right off Las Olas and after church I love walking that area. Sometimes we drive further down and go to the beach there too.

I've lived in South FL my whole life and I agree with pp. Las Olas is really pretty and has a lot of restaurants and shops. And, Jaxons has huge, delicious ice cream cones (and last time I went, there was a monkey outside and you could pay $1 to shake his hand). But also, my recommendations would be to go to Rustic Inn for dinner one night... It's kind of pricey but you get some really good seafood. You guys could also do an airboat ride in the Everglades... see some gators. We stayed at the Hilton on Ft. Lauderdale beach to celebrate our one year anniversary and at the time they had a "romance package" that included a whirlpool spa tub, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne... not sure if they still do that but it's a really nice hotel. I included a pic of our view from the hotel Smiley smile have fun!!!

If you want fancy, you could try Fountain Bleu or whatever it's called. I think it's pretty expensive though. But it's really nice

I am from South Florida. Marriott Harbor beach is nice. There is also a Court Yard Marriott that is right in the action area. I also recommend the W. Las Olas is on the beach and has good night life and downtown is not far away with lots of bars and stuff.
