Freaking out!

Michelle, on July 8, 2019 at 9:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
It is 2 less than 2 months before our wedding and my FH broke his ring and pinky fingers a couple weeks ago. I thought the swelling would be done by now, but they are still pretty swollen.

I don't know his ring size, therefore I can't order his ring. I have contacted the seller to see how fast they can ship it, but I am getting so nervous of the unknown timeline of when his fingers will be back to normal.

Help!

Can you maybe get a silicone ring for now and then when he finger heals, you guys can buy the one you originally intended?

Oh no! I know when I broke a couple fingers it took some weeks to get the swelling and bruising to go away. Helping to keep it elevated on ice whenever possible certainly helps.

What is this the summer of broken fingers? I work in daycare we have two kinds with broken fingers. Anyway i agree with the silicone idea.

Is it a ring that can be resized (like gold) or one that can’t (like tungsten)? If it can’t be resized later, definitely do not buy the expensive ring yet. If it can be resized later, maybe size his other ring finger and go up a bit to be safe? They’re not usually the same size, but they may be close. He could then have it resized when he heals.

I agree with PP. It may be better to have a temporary ring for now for the ceremony

Hey Michelle! Oh no, I’m so sorry that he has broken his fingers!

I definitely think that a silicone ring is a great idea until the swelling goes down. You could always order a ring and get it resized once the swelling has gone does, but you will then be knowingly ordering a ring in the incorrect size just to get it resized later so I think it would be best to wait and order it in the correct size.

Have you looked into silicone rings at all? There are some really great options!

You can ask him what his ring finger size was maybe? You said he broke his ring so I’m confused how if he wasn’t wearing it before y’all got married. Have the seller make him a new one using same size as before. Not sure if he went to a doctor about the swelling but he prob should. Swelling should go down with the meds they can give him. He’ll also want to ice it a lot 3-5 times a day. If he does exactly what the doctor says then swelling would go away within a werk
    or less

Could you use his other ring finger for reference? They should be pretty close to the same size I would think?

Agree with the 2 main ideas here, get a plain black silicone ring (i know, it might not look great for picture wise but you gotta do what you gotta do!) Or, use his other ring finger for reference, and maybe go up half a size. My ring fingers are nearly the same! Under half a size difference

I would either buy a silicon one, or have him just get a cheap one at walmart or something for the day of and pictures! Don't spend too much money!

Thank you all for your suggestions! I like the idea of the silicone ring (we were going to both get one any way as we are adventurous people). Like what was stated above, I'm not sure how that would look in pictures, but c'est la vie.

I really don't want to buy his ring as it will not be resizeable until we know his actual size.

    Thank you wedding advisors!

Hey Michelle! Have you and your FH chosen a silicone ring that you both like?
