*FREE* Bare Minerals Makeover for you AND your wedding party with product purchase!!!

Gina, on July 8, 2011 at 4:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

I just found out Bare Escentuals Boutiques offer free makeovers for you and anyone else and all they ask is that each person purchase something worth about $25 day of, which is like just a foundation or a couple eye shadows!!

If you're like me and only use Bare Minerals, then this is perfect, even if you don't, it's a good excuse to start! My whole wedding party is getting their makeup done there day of and super excited because most of them use the makeup already or have wanted to start.

Is this something they do all the time or just for limited time?

I did that as a trial for them to teach me to do my own make-up for my DW wedding.... the girl left me looking like an Egyptian from the 80's...

Just saying. I would highly recommend looking at the artist's portfolio before sitting on that chair. The girl that did my make-up "left hers" at a "workshop" she had just attended. Obviously they didn't teach her SQUAT! LOL I'm happy that I didn't go in blindly hoping for a great makeover the day of an important event.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but I'd make sure to go and see their work before and choose the one you want to do your makeover rather than having them just give you whomever. You know what I mean? Just talking from experience Smiley smile

I do love bare minerals and was so close to using them for my wedding until I got a trial done at MAC. It looked wonderful, natural, and photographed well. I was going to buy makeup to do it myself but knew I could never make it look as nice.....the lady was amazing and is coming to the hotel to do our makeup! I love bare minerals but would highly recommend MAC from my very recent experience!

Mrs. On a Boat, thanks for the advice! We will be bringing in pictures and letting each one know what we want.

Mrs Clark, you just call or stop by and ask them about it. I was shopping there and the lady told me about it so I asked my bridesmaids and they all want to do it.

Is there a link that can take us to this information? Is this franchise wide?

Some of the girls working at those types of make-up salons are just learning/new, so it's a gamble. Though I'm sure if one is doing a terrible job, another should help out.

I love Bare Minerals foundation, but I'm not a huge fan of the rest of their stuff. I suggest bringing your own mascara, or anything else that you might want. Also prep and prime your face, a lot of times they don't do that for you if they're doing the free make overs.

Just a little word of advice to people who have NOT tried bare minirals before-if you have sensitive skin (like me) it will rip your face apart. they used to sell these mini start-up kits and if your worried about how you will react to it get one of those, or borrow someones bc i spend almost 70 bucks and the whole system thinking it would help clear my skin and after a week of using it my entire neck broke out in a rash and burned like fire whenever i touched it or put lotion on it. it took two weeks for my skin to go back to normal. so try it out before you spend the money Smiley smile

You're welcome Gina Smiley smile I would ask if you can come in when someone else is having a trial, that way you can see their work beforehand, see how LONG they take, and choose from amongst their people who you'd like to do your make-up. I cannot stress this enough. FMW is right, a lot of the girls that work there are new to doing makeup on other people. Judge them by THEIR OWN makeup. If they look like a clow, you'll probably end up looking the same lol. The girl I had wanted and did my homework on was sick the day of our appointment so I got stuck with someone who wasn't as trainned as the one I had wanted to do my makeup.

Just trying to give you the most info so you can make the right decision for your big day Smiley smile

Just a word of caution. Bare minerals is great for every day wear but does not photograph as well as good, quality, made for photography makeup.

I am getting my wedding day makeup done at Bare Escentuals. It is the makeup I wear for every day and I had a makeup trial done and loved the look they gave me for my wedding day. When you do your trial they will write down how they did it and what they used so they can duplicate it on the day of your event/wedding. It is free to anyone. They actually do not make you buy anything although I am sure they would like you to for commission. I will caution you that it usually takes a while when they do your makeup. So make sure you leave plenty of time when you go.

I've had issues with some of MAC's foundations causing the white ghost face. Perhaps try Make Up For Ever HD. I believe it's available at Sephora. Best wishes!
