Free Cycle wedding stuff?

Freecycle is a email based forum that allows people to share with others in their area about free things they have. there are rules saying no trade/barter/selling etc. Basically, I think of it as a "free garage sale via email" lol

I run the biggest freecycle group in NJ. We have over 20,000 members and on any given day there are items given/requested that run from cars to bowties to bowling balls to taxidermy supplies. If you go to the national site, you can find a site in your area.

I like freecycle, but I'm not sure it's the best place for wedding items. It's to give away items you no longer use- for free. The point is recycling. If a bride wants to give away her items, then your friend will be stuck with her style and choices.

I think she can find other ways to save money and get items cheaply that she actually wants. Not to mention many items on there go VERY quickly (like within minutes). You can check craigslist, or definitely eBay.

Also, remind your friend that while DIY can save money- it doesn't always. Sometimes you spend more on individual parts to make an item then you would to just actually buy the item. There are other ways to save money too!
