Freeze dried rose petals- how much do I need?

GryffinBride, on May 24, 2016 at 8:27 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

My dad is amazing and sent me some money for rose petals. I'm ordering some now for our aisle decorations as well as the tables for the reception . I'm just curious if anyone knows how much I should order. They come in cups(?) I have a 20 ft aisle and 6 guest tables for reception. I can use anything leftover for other decor. We can't use any synthetic petals with our venue. Thanks in advance!

I saw your post Gryffin but I am not of any use for this! Any idea on how many come in each "cup" ?

Nope. No estimates or anything. Idk if cups even refers to something like cup measurements in baking.

Hmmm that is really tough! I'm not doing anything like this so I haven't even thought about this before. My gut is always that I would so much rather have extra than not enough. Make the aisle your priority and then anything extra can be the tables, cake table, etc.

I did a quick Google search and came upon an etsy listing that suggests: For aisle per square foot, 8 cups for dense, 4 cups for moderate, 2 cups for light.

For tables it suggests 2 to 4 cups per table.

Not sure if that's helpful maybe do a few more searches and see if you find an average?

That was incredibly helpful actually. I couldn't find any of that when I searched on Google. What did you type to get those tips?

Lol I typed in "Freeze dried Rose Petals Weddings" and it had a few etsy listings of sellers, and one of them had this suggestion for "how much to buy?"

    Gotta love the Google!

How many cups should I get?

For an Aisle, Path, Tabletop or Bed:

1 cup per square foot for light coverage.

2 cups per square foot for moderate coverage.

3 cups per square foot for heavy coverage.

Flower Girl Baskets: 4-6 cups per girl

Wedding Toss: 1/2 cup per guest if using cones or sachets

Wedding Toss: 1 cup per guest if using a basket for guests to help themselves.

Reception Tables: 5-6 cups per 60" round table for light scattering around just the center of the table use 3 cups or so.

Memorial Service or Funeral Service: 1/2 - 2 cups per person attending that wishes to honor the spirit of a loved one or friend.
