We are having a Friday wedding. It starts at 430 so people can still put in some time at work, and have a full weekend to recover.

We chose to go with a Friday wedding because the date is special to us. It worked out nicely because we put the money we saved on the venue towards decorations. I think it depends on who you're inviting. It is definitely a hassle to have to take time off of work but we are having a small wedding and won't be disappointed if people can't make it! For what it's worth I would personally rather leave work early on a Friday than be out late on a Sunday.

I'd rather go to a Friday wedding compared to a Sunday

As a guest, I love Friday weddings! That way I still have the rest of my weekend for other plans or Netflix marathons. BUT usually that means I have to take half of a day off of work it even the whole day.

We did Friday and it was great! The hotel had a one-night minimum for Friday events, but 2-night for Saturday events. Was better for some of our guests.

Mine was on a friday, to be honest it's your wedding do what you like we were going with the date 7/7/17, it didn't matter if it fell on Tuesday, we were getting married that day

People love a reason to take off early from work on a friday, and what's better than "I have a wedding to go to!"

As everyone's mentioned, you end up saving money too! Go for it!

As long as it's Friday night. Friday weddings are a pain in the ass because your guests have to adjust their work schedules so you can save money, but then everyone typically has Saturday off so they can recover. It can work, but check to make sure your bridal party can rehearse

For budget reasons... we chose Friday. We're hoping, as we chose not to do a destination that would have been more affordable... based on the response we received in who would actually make the effort to come... that our small party of family and friends will plan ahead and be a part of our day. Fingers crossed... we're also hoping our venue won't get booked on Thursday so we will have the day before to set up.

The venue we chose gives a 10 percent discount on Fridays and Sundays. We went with a Friday because we talked with our VIPs and they all said they would prefer Friday over Sunday. Friday still leaves most of the weekend for people to enjoy/recover lol. Its easier for our crowd to take a half day on a Friday to make a 6pm ceremony versus having to take off a whole day on Monday because they were out late the night before. We have quite a few 'partiers' in our friend group lol. I think as long as you are okay with some possible declines and the possibility of people not making the ceremony due to work/traffic etc, than go for it!!

My SIL had a Friday night. It was much cheaper for them. Only downside was some people had a hard time getting there. It was at 6 though I think later would've had a better turnout.

To save budget we chose to do ours on Sunday with Presidents day being the day after. However, I've attended several Friday weddings that start later in the evening and they have been perfect, as well.

Nay. You save money at the expense of your guests who either have to lose pay or burn vacation time.

@wed18 m. But you're also having those guests for a night of free food and alcohol so it's not any huge deal. Also most guests may not come to the ceremony and

cocktail hour and receptions are usually well after a typical work day. I asked around before booking and all my guests loved the idea, plus I'm sending STDs a year in advance to accommodate those who want to take off or use vacation time.
