Hi!! So the venue that I have literally been dreaming about has the date I wanted booked along with every Saturday for that month (February) and the next 4 months after that.. just my luck. They told me they Friday before my original date is open but I’m not sure if a Friday wedding will be to much...
Hi!! So the venue that I have literally been dreaming about has the date I wanted booked along with every Saturday for that month (February) and the next 4 months after that.. just my luck. They told me they Friday before my original date is open but I’m not sure if a Friday wedding will be to much of an inconvenience for my guest. What is everyone’s opinion? My only other option is to wait an additional year (2022) which I truly don’t want.
Thank you!!

My wedding is Friday June 21 of this year. We sent out STD's 11 months out. It is the date we got engaged and was important to us that just happened to fall on a Friday. Our ceremony is 4:30 but the reception is 6:00. So those who can't make it to the ceremony can always skip it and come to the reception although I don't think it will be an issue. Do what is best for you.

I'm having a Friday wedding in July of this year and I haven't had one complaint. I would say send out your save the dates a little earlier than usual and start your wedding later in the evening, that way it gives people time to get off work and get ready. Some of my out of town guests have already made travel arrangements, and a lot of friends and family have already requested that day off work. I look at like this people will find a reason to complain no matter what you do so do what you want. If they truly want to come they will be there!!

We're doing ours on a Friday at 5pm. I sent out save the dates so people would have a heads up.

If a lot of your guests are out of the country, they’d probably have to take at least a day or two off of work regardless of what day your wedding is, so I wouldn’t think that’d be a huge deal for them.

Have you considered a Sunday? This way your local guests wouldn’t have to take off work.

Keep the area you live in in mind. I went to a Friday wedding in DFW and a lot of people were late because of traffic. A lot of people don’t have flexible PTO for their job. Just something to think about

I dont think it would be inconvenient for your guests. We are having a Friday wedding due to costs and availability also. We have told a lot of people we will be inviting so they know it's on Friday.

I think Friday’s are definitely doable! I’ll be having mine on a Friday and I was hesitant at first but now it doesn’t bother me. We saved 5000$ by not having it on a Saturday lol. Only thing that kind of stinks is the rehersal dinner will be on a Thursday...but it’s going to be super small.
