On Sunday we decided to postpone. I fully expect there will be surges after Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. As of right now weddings in NY are still limited to 50 guests and we can’t cut out that many people from our 220 guest list.
So now we will have a summer wedding the opposite of what I’ve always wanted (winter) but now I’m excited for the different possibilities.
Initially our wedding in January was supposed to take place in the mid afternoon but we are now having an evening wedding. I would have kept my original time but the couple getting married the same day as we are would have to start their event at 11am in order to be over, sanitized and set up for my ceremony and I don’t think that would be fair to the other bride. However, I think an evening wedding in the middle of summer will be more romantic. We can also go to the countries where we wanted to go to for our honeymoon as they should be open to American tourists then.
Besides changing our date we also have to get married on a weekday (Thursday). As that was the only days left our venue offered because they are trying to reschedule as many covid brides as they can. Our venue was more than accommodating and so quick to answer all of my questions. I am so happy that we choose them. When it’s all said and done I’m still marrying my best friend with all my nearest and dearest there.
