From round tables to rectangular tables....

So, I made it to the KC hall this weekend. I thought they had round tables, but I was mistaken....they have 8 ft rectangle tables. I can still rent rounds but it's just more economic to use theirs... But how do I set up the tables so the room is functional??? Will table runners look stupid on...

Thanks again ladies for the info, this helps out alot Smiley smile I think putting 2 tables together would cut down on the number of centerpieces you need per table, I could be wrong, but that's the way I'm thinking.

We had 4 of the square tables and it worked out great for our families. I used tulle as a runner and had one large centerpiece then had 4 smaller votive holders spread out. I've attached a picture.

We are using 90X132 floor length for our buffet tables, the head table and our bar area. I bought them on Ebay from a place called completebridalaccessories.com. For 5, it was $69. To rent them, it would have cost us $39 a piece. I actually just returned (12)60 X 120 Ivory Marlowe table cltohs to Bed Bath and Beyond. They awere $4.99 on clearance. However, when I got them home and tried to do a mock up, it didn't look right because I want mine to be floor length for the buffet. Anyone buying that size, may want to check out their website.

Anywho, after the 90 X 130's arrived, I found out they were from China. However, the quality is good and they are allegedly stain and wrinkle resistant.

Here is the link on Ebay:

Oh...and our dining tables are squares. We are using runners.

    Good luck!

Thanks Future Mrs. Cooper Smiley smile Glad I could help. It was actually our caterers idea to push them together and I loved the way it looked all finished.

Yes! I don't care for the typical rectangular look...but them pushed together gives it a little more formal look!

And it doesn't look so cafeteria-ish. I've been to receptions where there were rows and rows of those tables end to end and it felt like I was eating at a trough.
