Fun Scavenger hunt

Jasmine, on May 4, 2012 at 11:12 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

So I'm having a destination wedding off on a cruise Carnival Glory I was thinking of stuff that would get the family together I thought a scavenger hunt sounds really fun but I need ideas and help pulling my thoughts together I want a more traditional hunt actually having to collect items I was planning on having teams or pairs of people I have no idea what to give out for prizes I think I will need the boat's staff to help me out though do you think this is possible for example having a bartender give out an item after someone in the party buys a drink for their partner is this a good idea I also liked going certain places for items like get a chip from the casino to add the reason I didn't choose a picture hunt because every group would have to have a digital camera or camera phone I don't know if that's possible with my family

Are there any paid activities / excursions on the ship that aren't too expensive? Maybe winning couple can win something like that?

Hi Jasmine ~ welcome to WW

It can be a photo scavenger hunt. Give them a list of locations on the ship and things to do/pose with. That way your guests are "forced" to see/do things on the ship and get photo memories to take home.

You could take this idea to the site www.cruisecritic.com

I'm sure you will find people that have been on the ship and can give you ideas.

I would also suggest pictures of the ship or even of locations in ports that it stops at. Of course it would need to be easy and not out of the way. I would check with your

Carnival Wedding Staff and see if they have any ideas.

We are doing this for our DW but we have never been there so its been a little tricky. Let us know how it works out.

The problem with a photo hunt I would need to make sure every group has a digital camera not sure if every member of our family has a digital camera or even camera phone for that matter

There will be enough cameras that you can create groups to make it work. 4 cameras, divide your family and friends into 4 groups. 10 cameras = 10 groups.

We're doing a scavenger hunt, our wedding is a historic downtown area with a walking mall, we're sending our guest to different locations where they will give thier name to the shopkeeper or bartender depending, and recieve different gifts, (example my favorite boutique: I'm buying candles, taking them home, gift wrapping them and taking them back, the shopkeeper will give them thier gift when they tell her they are on my scavenger hunt, a local bookstore carries old time soda in glass bottles, when they tell that shopkeeper who they are they get a soda (I will prepay for as many OOT guest are booked at the hotel) the last stop is a historic bar that will serve them a glass of champange (already paid for of course) There are other stops too where they will count steps (courthouse),get brocheres from the local musuem, ect.
