If you are trying to come up with something besides booz, food, and dancing, consider a photobooth.

We're thinking of fireworks or fire dancers. But we're doing it in Costa Rica and it isn't too costly. If yours is in the states, I'd consider thinking out of the box for additional entertainment other than DJ. Or even maybe costume themed, but simple. Like mardi gras or something. It'll still be a reception but with a little spin.

If it is outside some games would be fun to have set up on the side for the guest who don't dance such as corn hole, giant jenga, horse shoes

Booze and dancing are pretty safe. Photo booths if it's in your budget.

If your venue allows it and you're looking for out-of-the-box entertainment, I know some people who have hired aerialists to perform at their wedding.

But as long as you have booze and dancing, people will be pretty entertained.

We played a game where we wrote down whether the bride/groom has the behavior on the paper. It was so much fun!
