Go on Zazzle and look up change the date cards. They are typically a separate announcement from the invite itself and sent on their own. You send the new invites at 6 weeks and the change the date before then.

Maybe something like : Our wedding is under "ARREST" (or A Rest) while ----- completes his training at the police academy. Your subpoena (invitation) to appear as witnesses for our ceremony will follow once a date has been booked.
