Gahh my engagement ring doesn't fit anymore :(

Chloe, on November 21, 2013 at 10:30 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 29

I had put my engagement ring on my necklace because its fallen off three times now. Once in my sleep, once when I was just waving at my daughter and once while I was washing my hands. I'm so scared I'm gonna lose it.

My fiance is gonna be so mad at me. It only doesn't fit because I keep losing weight (sadly... not a good thing) and now I'm really underweight and my ring doesn't fit. I need to seriously increase my calorie intake because I'm still nursing my daughter and she eats a lot lol

I read something about Walmart selling elastic ring guards or something. Has anyone used these or made a DIY ring guard? There's no jewelry stores anywhere near me... I'd rather not have to keep it on my necklace cause it'll just upset my FH. (Just cause he wants me healthy)

    Terrible right now lol

I'm staying at my parents while FH is away for work and they're both on diets. And so they won't keep snack food in the house- which is what I usually eat while I'm nursing Maia- and they only cook one meal a day. So I have to find myself food and idk it just never works out for me lol

That is awful! i'm having the same problem because Zales won't size my ring but I bought a pack of soft plastic ring guards and it has helped a lot! I bought mine at Clairs and it was a pack of 5 for $4 I think!

Is it a health related illness that you aren't able to keep weight on?

They sell the ring guards at Walmart - I've got one on mine now. After Christmas I'll get it sent of to be sized but I wanted to be able to wear it for the Holidays because we will have pictures taken and also family coming home will be asking to see it.

Thanksgiving and the Holidays should help the calorie uptake. Don't forget dessert!

Wrap thread around the bottom of the band to help secure the fit. You can add or remove as necessary. Good luck, sweetie!

@Candy. Not something I've been diagnosed with but I have always had problems putting on weight. I only put 12 lbs on while I was pregnant and my daughter was 8 lbs of that once you add all the TMI stuff on top of that I basically didn't put on anything. I left the hospital after having her the same weight as I was before I got pregnant.

@MrsGravely/Charleston Bride- I will have to look at both of those place! Thank you!

@Kristie- haha yes I will have to double my intake on thanksgiving. luckily i will not be having that with my parents so no diet food!! (and yes they have had a diet thanksgiving before... it was a sad day...)

@champagne- i will be moving back with FH next week and he will be yelling at me constantly to eat lol

Get a second ring that is the right size and wear it over your first one. It doesn't have to be expensive, just something that wont' damage your engagement ring. That's what I've done. It works great!

You know when I was pregnant I moved back in with my mom for like 4 months while FH worked 5 hours away. We both moved back to our hometowns after traveling for a few years and I needed a place to stay and got this great job and he found a great job in another city. so..yeah one more thing in common

Hmm could you wear it on your right hand instead until it gets sized? My right hand is like half to a whole size bigger than my left. Good luck!

Event planning can be very demanding. I did for Several years but then for health insurance reasons I returned to Disney FT.. which I love!

Now I'm changing departments and going back into groups and conventions but with Disney..

What's funnier...? I could end up working on room blocks for my own wedding at Disney since my department handles resort rooms for weddings!

I am constantly losing weight no matter my diet. Dr. doesn't understand. I was a size 7 April to August and when I was married on September 13 I was barely a size 2. My rings spin around and almost fall off all the time. It makes me crazy but I'm afraid to size down because I go up just as fast. I'm going to find one of those ring cuffs and try it. Thanks for starting this thread!

Yes ring guards work really well! I'm sure if you put an elastic ring guard on it your ring will fit just fine.

The online ones (the ring noodle or the ring snuggie) look so much better than the ones the jewelry store give you!! the one the store put on scratched up my ring so the plastic ones seem so much better.

IDK if its the birth control I started since having my daughter or just the amount I breastfeed but my size 0 jeans are getting too big for me... I'm just really underweight. Gonna have to find something to pump up my calories or there's no way my wedding dress is gonna fit!! lol
