Leaving the day after, but out ceremony starts at 3 so we will be wrapped up by 9. As long as you don't drink to much I think the next day is doable.

FH and I aren't planning a gap (well a 1 day gap if that counts), but I know lots of people that plan it for a week or two after the wedding! Some people even go over a year after their wedding and still call it a honeymoon.

Edited: we were originally looking at cruises, and if we had went that route, we would've left a week and a half after our wedding.

I'm doing the exact same thing you are. I'm getting married in California and we are waiting a week to fly to Florida and do an 8 day Caribbean cruise. I just feel like it will be to hectic after the wedding, finding a place for the decor, gifts, making sure all final payments are made, to leave even a few days after. Since I am taking a few days off before the wedding it will be good for me to go back for a few days in between to make sure things are taken care of before I leave for an extended time.

We're going on a cruise as well and are leaving out 13 days later. We currently live in GA and are getting married in FL. Plus we're getting married on a Sunday and there aren't many cruises , if any, leaving on a Monday for a full 7 days.

We left two days after the wedding, then had two days after returning before returning to work. I was more concerned with the gap before returning to work rather than the gap between the wedding and HM... I didn't want to go back to work right after returning. I actually wanted to shift our HM to be one day after the wedding and return three days before going back to work, but the flights didn't work out.

We were also thinking of a cruise at first but ran into the same situation. We have decided to fly out the Monday (wedding is Saturday) and go to California and Arizonia for 10 days or so

We're waiting- we have to move in together around the same time- and no sense trying to stretch the piggy bank- we'll be saving up enough go away for at least a week debt free.

if no one else is paying for it- then it's on you to do it in a manner that suits you best!

We're going a month later because of cost and we're using the money we saved on the cost of the trip as our spending money while we're there. As far as work, FH and I work together in the same department so we'll just have to go back to regular life while we wait a month to fly away!
