Gay wedding help!

Rich, on September 6, 2021 at 9:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hi!

My fiancé and I are planning a wedding and I'm caught up on how to go about finding wedding attire for our female wedding party members. Do we just schedule time at David's Bridal or somewhere similar? Also, we have a friend who live across the country and most likely will be only traveling for the wedding. How do we do a fitting for her?

You could make an appointment at David’s bridal! Especially if you and your fiancé are unsure of the color/style you want for the bridal party. I’ve done bridesmaids appointments at David’s bridal and they are very helpful and have many options!
If you already have an idea of what you want you could just choose a store/website and tell them the color and any other specifications you may have and just have them choose what they want! This is what I’m doing. That way your out of town person doesn’t need to be there.

I picked the color we (I) wanted for the ladies and then picked a range of dresses and let them pick their own. They all picked a different dress, but it was still cohesive.

If you decide on a color/dress, she can go to her local David's bridal and get the same dress or color for her fitting.

I didn’t see anything I liked at David’s Bridal. I picked out a dress for them from the same shop I got my dress. I too have an out of town bridesmaid. We included her on the shopping trip by sending her pictures of everything we found. Once we all decided in a dress she was able to go to her local dress shop and order it. So, even if you don’t find anything at David’s don’t be afraid to check out other shops. Your out of town BM will still be able to get a matching dress. Have fun shopping!

I totally hear you! My MOH lives halfway across the country! Cost is a a huge factor in our wedding because everyone in my bridal party is at a different stage in life. I don’t want them to have to buy a dress for $300 when they’re in college or have a baby on the way! I found the website azazie an they have soooo many styles and colors. They’ll ship you swatches of the colors for cheap too to make sure you love the color. Your girls can also measure themselves and have the website make that dress to their measurements so no tailor needed!

I agree with Azazie! The try-on option is great, and your bridesmaid can order from anywhere. My wedding gown is from there, and the quality is spectacular!

We also used azazie— all online, but they can order styles [not always available in desired color or size] to try on at home for $10. This was a great option for us as we also had an out of state girl. I let them choose their own style as long as it was long and dusty blue in color, but you can also create a “showroom” of options if you want to narrow it down or prefer a specific look or want to make sure each dress compliments the others. One of my girls found a favorite and ordered it (returns are possible if you get standard sizing), and my other two chose 2 or 3 favorites and ordered the samples to try at home. In my case all my girls are friends (and highly cooperative and low maintenance), so we had a group text going where they shared updates. One had a clear winner from her try at home dresses and the other was torn, so she based her choice off what looked best with the 2 styles the other girls had already chosen. Worked out really well. The only work on my end was picking a color ! (I ordered a couple swatches from azazie as well).
