Geeky Ceremony for a Geeky Couple

Who is having a geek themed ceremony/reception or is incorporating items into the decorations? Our theme is Geek Chic and we are working with the venue and our planner to ensure it is fun and us but elegant and not tacky.

    What the freaking hell?

A little geek goes a long way, unless your throwing a 10 year old's birthday party. I've seen cufflinks, t shirts under tuxes, all kinds of little touches, but too much is too much.

Go ahead, flag me. It'll be twice in one day, a new record for me.

She was a regular when I joined, Something happened to someone that was supposed to pay for something so they couldn't, brides here thought it was a good idea to make a go-fund-me for her and actually donated (why I have no clue) and raised the money to cover whatever happened, I think it was a catering bill. A week later she posts asking for tips on her lavish honeymoon. People freak-out that she had this lavish honeymoon but had a gofundme. No one likes being played for a fool and there you have it.

AMW: There is no game too nerdy! I dabbled in LoTR online. Right now I am playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, even though it's five years old! I was waiting for EQ Next to come out but it has been cancelled. It broke my heart! Anyway, sometimes it is easier just to say "we met online" because people don't understand HOW you could meet in a game. I love it, though, because we have similar interests! I love that you are having LoTR music! Something that we are doing is having a pop culture scavenger hunt. There will many, MANY references throughout the ceremony and reception. There will be some sort of prize. I just thought it would be fun to add to the reception because we are not a bunch of dancers.

Who remembers the bride who covered her FHs eyes when there were girls in bikinis on TV or in movies?

@Erika... I played Rift when it launched... haven't been on in a couple of years. Miss that one... that and Neverwinter. Two standout MMORPGs

I still can't get over her husband creating a WW account for the sole purpose of insulting us. If I asked DH to troll a wedding Internet forum he would definitely be questioning my sanity.

@Erika... HAHAH... I met my last boyfriend in EQ2.... and we broke up playing SWTOR! I loved EQ2, but Everquest was better, IMO... nothing like running back to your corpse. Naked. Hadn't heard that a new EQ was coming out. And then not. Smiley sad

@Margaret Rift was such a great game! I left right around the time Nightmare Tide came out. I mostly did raiding, I was the raid leader, but I also LOVED Conquest!!! It was so much fun! They just recently came out with new souls for all the classes. (A few months ago they came out with a new calling!) I keep up with what is happening but I doubt I will ever play again. I played Neverwinter for a few months last summer. That was a great game too! Some of the controls were a little strange but that was easy to get used to. I love seeing others on here that play games!

@Margaret EQ was so awesome!!! I played Bard which meant I wasn't the best at anything but I was GOOD at everything! Now that game was fantastic! The crafting was so hard! Here, go find a bunch of items and HOPE that it makes something. Look for hours for a quest item and then give it to the wrong NPC, too bad find it again! Haha, running back to your corpse just hoping nobody looted your body! Oh the good 'ol days.

SWTOR is in a really exciting expansion right now! I can honestly say sometimes I forget about wedding planning because I can't stop playing...

@Erika... I got the email from Sony, just never went in and looked at the expansion. I played a few months back again, got my apartment on Nar Shadaa, played with it for a little bit then left again. Ugh... My ex husband was a WoW widow, I'm not going to do that with FH!! (I keep telling myself)

FH is obsessed with Batman. We have entire "batman room" in the house. He has almost 10 batman tattoos. He has tens of thousands of dollars worth of collectibles. He is getting his batman cake topper and that's it!

    Just popped in to say...

Erika - I love SWTOR. Wonderful game. I still play it on and off when I'm not busy letting FFXIV take up all my time.
