Get married in rainy season or push it 5 months?? 😥

Brianna, on June 16, 2019 at 10:57 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 3
My fiancé and I we originally planning to get married in May 2020 but then the venue we wanted didn’t have anything open until June 6th so we immediately took that date. Now we are in June in south Florida and it has not stop raining. We are afraid of the high chance of it raining on our wedding day. We are considering pushing it to November to make sure that rainy season and hurricane season has passed and to also get the long weekend for years to come, but that means adding another 5 months until we can be husband and wife. Don’t know what we should do!! Help!!!

Hey Brianna! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! Congratulations on booking your venue, this is such a big step!

What is your venue like? Were you planning on holding your ceremony or reception outdoors? If so, what is the inside of the venue like should you have to move your celebration because of rain on the day?

I know it may seem like rain would be the worst thing to happen on your wedding day but it’s not! As long as you and your venue have a plan in place for the rain, it should be fine! You could also get some really beautiful photos! I saw Kayla’s Pro BAM yesterday and her umbrella photos are absolutely beautiful!!

If you don’t want to wait until November to be married, you shouldn’t feel pressure to move it!

Thank you Sinéad! I was also seeing photos in the rain and they look magical! Our venue is Longans Place in homestead, it’s beautiful tiki huts with a barn for the dancing portion of the night. It would be a shame to not be able to experience this place to its fullest. After thinking of our guests and the flow of things we have decided to push it but not as extreme as November. We pushed it to September and IF it happens to rain since it’s still in the rainy season, just not the beginning of it, then we will embrace it.
