Get marry without a ring??

Melanie, on August 22, 2019 at 11:17 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

when my fiance proposed to me, he did it with a simple Pandora ring because he wanted to take me to the jewelry to choose my ring. We went to several jewelry stores but I didn't like any. We went to Robbins brothers and fell in love with a beautiful ring! It was the perfect ring, the ring of my dreams, but it is very expensive 😭I kept looking at all the jewelry stores of all the malls near my house and I don't like any! I like the one I saw in Robbins brothers. so I decided that I didn't want to buy a ring until my fiance could afford the one I like, but we had debts and expenses, like the wedding, looking for an apartment to live after the wedding (we don't live together) we will move to another state and there are many things that we have to pay. Such as furnitures, apartment downpayment etc, but I also don't want him to spend money on a ring that I don't like, and I feel bad because people will think I'm interested in money and it's not like that. I love him with all my heart but I want to have the ring I like and see it and be happy to have the perfect engagement ring that my fiance gave me. I hope you can understand me. My fiance told me that he will buy it, but the wedding date is approaching and what do I do if I don't have my ring?

There is nothing wrong with getting married with the Pandora ring he proposed to you with and save up for your dream ring. Maybe by the 1st or 2nd anniversary the timing will work out for you! Really, the most important part is your FH!

There is nothing that says you have to have a wedding ring. You could do without altogether. Or use the Pandora ring. Or look at one of these inexpensive ring choices:

If you haven't spent much (or anything) on the ring, you can always upgrade later.

You can also split the cost of the engagement ring with your fiancé. That’s what I did.

I think it is extremely important to have a ring even if it is a fake one. But it sounds like you already have a ring. Maybe he can get you your dream ring for your anniversary.

I totally understand about the ring but don’t lose focus or stress about it the most important thing here is that you are marrying your best friend and you get to spend the rest of your life with him.

Just an idea. I found a gorgeous engagement ring that I wanted from David Yurman but I didn’t want him to have to spend a fortune so we went o a jeweler and had it made for way cheaper. It’s an absolute knock off and it’s beautiful but not nearly as expensive.

No I do not! He use it just to have something to proposed, but he wanted to give me a real one. But the one I like it’s expensive and I do not like anything else

I already did it with two different stores but none of them did it like the one I like. Maybe I’m too picky. Oh well...

I'm wearing a $9 CZ ring from Walmart with tape around the bottom so it actually fits right now, and at this rate I'm probably going to get married with this ring on, and save for the ring I actually want after the fact. It's not the end of the world, and nothing says you can't.

You already have a ring, so it’s not like you would marry without anything. If you have your heart set on this other one, maybe it could be an anniversary gift. Maybe you could go to a small, local jeweler and see if they could make you what you want. Sometimes the chain jewelry stores are more expensive with lower quality and fewer options than at an independent store.

My engagement ring cost more than we had at the time my FH proposed, so he was able to buy it on an installment plan. Now he makes a monthly payment, and I have the ring I love!! Did you guys try something like that for the ring you love? I'm not normally an advocate of buying things on credit, because that can get dicey. But in this instance, it was the only way I could get the ring I fell in love with. And it will be paid off before the wedding, so no harm, no foul.
