Get ready hotel dilemma!

Zanetah, on July 26, 2021 at 5:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi!

So my venue is 45 minutes from my house…so getting ready there isn’t an option. I am trying to decide between these 3 hotels. I really want a hotel with a nice suite big enough for my bridal party to get ready in and looks decent for photos… typically one that’s apartment style…with a separate bedroom and small Kitchenette so we have enough room…I found one that is 15 miles away ( 26 minutes) from the venue. I have 11 people including me that would need HMU and ceremony will be at 5:30 but we can’t get there untill 4:30 just to give some timing and spacing context The other 2 are super close ! (Under 10 minutes) however, 1 doesn’t have the apartment looking suite it’s just a king bed and a sofa…the other one is a little dingy but is a larger studio type room. I guess my question is the hotel that’s 26 minutes to far? Should I just suck it up and pick a hotel closure by?

Honestly, you will need to start getting ready early in the day for a 5:30 ceremony. Can you stay at the hotel an additional night (before) so that you can have flexibility? Obviously it’s more expensive for another night but if you’re set on that room that’d be the move. Even if the other hotels are closer, most check in is 3-4 PM which still wouldn’t give you enough time to get ready.

What about an air b&b? This will give you more space and may look better in photos too!

Yes, sorry I should of included that information! We would def stay there the night before. My biggest concern is having enough space to get ready and making sure we get to the venue on time.

So why wouldn’t you be able to get to getting ready until 4:30?

My get ready hotel is about 25 min from the venue. We are just going to build in ample time for transportation. Our ceremony is at 5:00 but we will get to the venue around 3:30 to do photos before hand. 25 minutes isn’t too far, just build in 45 min for transportation. Just in case.

We're getting ready at my house which is about 40 minutes from our venue. I'm just starting earlier in the day and allowing that extra travel time to make it in time for first look pics before the ceremony.
