Question for those that have been pregnant because I want them to feel comfortable. I have 1 bridesmaid who will be last trimester at my wedding and another one who is planning on being pregnant as well. I was just going to get the girls simple blackor grey tank tops that say bridesmaid on them to wear for getting ready. Would you feel comfortable in this during your last trimester or would you rather have a tshirt/non sleeveless? TI

ETA:I'm asking people who have been pregnant whether they felt more comfortable in sleeveless or with sleeves during last trimester. I'm not asking whether people should wear their own clothes or not but thanks.

Update: I'm just going to ask the pregnant bridemaid(s) what they would prefer. Thanks for those that gave helpful adviceSmiley smile

Every pregnant lady experiences her pregnancy differently, so it's best to just ask her.

I was constantly hot, and even though I gave birth in January I was always in sleeveless tops. But she might feel differently, or feel self conscious, or something else.

Just ask, like someone said what's comfortable for one is not necessary comfortable for another. I think getting ready shirts are cute, I wore on in the last wedding I was in and I liked it. I was happy to wear it because I was celebrating with my best friend and they did make for some cute pictures.

I don't have experience with the pregnancy question, but I will say I've received tank tops in the past to get ready in that I've loved, but then I had that "oh sh*t" moment when it comes time to change without messing up hair and makeup.

Since your friends will be pregnant, what about cozy matching zip up sweatshirts that can be worn over their own basic black/grey/whatever shirt? I thought about getting those made for my BMs with the wedding hashtag or the date or something else cute for getting ready. Plus, I kind of wanted one myself!

I'm saying it because you seem to be treating your BP like props instead of people. You aren't actually taking anything into consideration except time and space. Your BP are people are and should be comfortable, not be made props for a photo op.

@Jessie...that's absolutely ridiculous. No ma'am. I'm treating my bridemaids like props because I'm getting them t shirts to wear while getting ready? Nah...we've all been in each other's weddings and done the same and enjoyed it. Many people do this. Getting shirts for bridesmaids does not equal treating them like props. Wrong lady.

ETA: The whole point of my post is to make sure that specific people actually feel comfortable in what they are wearing.

@Richard all of these girls have provided us with bridesmaids shirts that we have worn for their weddings and had fun with it. You're wrong.

ETA: Also please tell me how you as a man, are a relevant contributor to this?

I've been a BM is umpteenth weddings and "thankfully" never had a souvenir tshirt from the experience. The $200 dress I'll never bloody well wear again is good enough. If you really want to make your BMs comfortable, let them dress in their own clothes to get ready and maybe treat them to a spa day. FFS, you're not 13.

So your BM in the last trimester isn't going to feel pretty in a tank top. Boobs are going to be huge. Chances are there is weight gain and could possibly be self conscious of her arms. You put her in a tank that she's going to have to wear a stupid massive bra in and then have her worry about her arms showing?

Also how do you know how big she's going to be? Do you know how it feels to be 9 months pregnant and nothing fits and somebody gives you something to wear that doesn't cover your belly? Not only are you highly emotional but your tired, grumpy and super uncomfortable.

Why make either of these women uncomfortable for a couple of pictures that really don't mean anything? Is this the picture you are going to have hung up over the mantle? No. it's going to be one of you and your Dh.

@Helena-Yeah, I tried that approach...OP doesn't "get it". She just wants to know what will be "comfortable".

Some of these comments are ridiculous. I've been in more weddings than I care to count, and for a good number of them the bride has included some sort of getting ready robe or shirt for our getting ready pictures. It's become more common thanks to pinterest. I think it's totally acceptable since you are buying them.

OP - I would just confirm with your already pregnant friend. Have you considered going the robe route? Also - I've never had any issues with tank tops messing up my hair. Make sure the neck is big enough to easily slide over the head without touching the face or hair.

@Jessie FFS did you not see where I put all of these girls did the same thing in their weddings? How do I spell this out...WE HAVE ALL WORN THESE FOR ALL OF THEIR WEDDINGS. As bride, providing matching shirts for your bridesmaids implies that you enjoy something like this. Do you not understand the concept? Not every friends group is just like yours. Thanks but no thanks for the non help advice.

@ Helena no I don't know how it feels that was the whole point of my original question.

When I was pregnant I would rather wear a tank. I remember having crazy hot flashes in my last trimester. Just make sure it's long enough to cover the bottom of the belly. You can always purchase a black or gray tank from a maternity store to make sure it fits properly. For me tops weren't the biggest deal but bottoms I wanted to be comfortable.

@Macy I did consider the robe look but I felt like some of them are kind of short and revealingSmiley smile I thought just a top with whatever bottoms they were wearing was more comfortable for them.

Haha I think some of the 5 star posters just keep posting snarky remarks that don't answer peoples questions just to keep their stars up.

OP-Have any of your friends been pregnant before? What did you do then? If not, I'm trying to tell you, that this is not a good idea, your pregnant friend is going to be exceptionally uncomfortable. I've been pregnant, it's not a good time had by all, and I had a super duper easy pregnancy.

@OP. Can you answer my comment?

You enjoy providing clothing that is going to make one or two of your girls seriously uncomfortable?

And for gods sake don't make the pregnant women wear a robe. Dear lord. You want then more self conscious than they already are? Here put on a robe that won't even come close to closing. Oh well, you don't look good enough for my pictures so just stand off to the side.........

ETA-@OP- I have told you how it feels but you seem to not care. 8-9 months pregnant is a brutal freaking time. Be a good friend and let them be comfortable.

@ Richard I'm fine with the pregnant ones wearing a different style which was the whole point of my post. What style of shirt they would feel most comfortable in.
