Get ready room

Debra, on August 13, 2022 at 6:55 PM Posted in Planning 1 9
So I have bags, water bottles, slippers, robes, hangers all customized for my bridesmaids
I’d love to have a photo in the get ready room however
I’m seeing most people pass this stuff out after rehearsal so that everyone has the items for the wedding day! Any suggestions?

You could pass them out after the rehearsal. As it might be the easiest. I didn’t have enough time to give mine out at the rehearsal so I gave mine out the day of and it worked out just fine. As long as they have them before I think it’ll be fine.

I love this! Is there a way they can show up a bit earlier in order to get ready?

Do you have other gifts for them or is this all you're gifting them?

If you have other gifts you can give those at the rehearsal dinner, and then have these items waiting for them in the getting ready room morning of.

I think having the robes, slippers, etc. waiting in the room would be fine. Plenty of people give their gifts the morning of. I think this makes extra sense if you're asking them to just wear the robes for getting ready since some people probably won't feel comfortable walking around in just a silk robe (especially if they're coming from someplace other than wherever you're getting ready at).

I would have these items ready and waiting the morning of, and make sure you get a photo of them set up nicely before anyone grabs them! If you give them before, there is a chance they'll get left behind/forgotten.

Just a heads up if this is all you're gifting your crew - a huge topic of etiquette on these forums is that these are technically not gifts for them, but props for *you* to get the photos you want. If you are giving them a more personal gift, it would be appropriate to hand that out at the rehearsal dinner.

You could also set them up for a nice photo before you go to the dinner, if you have access to the space you're getting ready at (or don't mind the photo being taken elsewhere).

A mild backup option would be to set them up somewhere and take the pictures yourself. Still, do the professional ones at the proper time.

I purchased jewelry for each of them…will be worn at the wedding but high quality for them to keep. You have me worried now, maybe I better read on proper gift etiquette!!!

Haha I think it's a really sweet gesture and will make for great photos! Search the forum for "Bridesmaids robes" and you'll probably find some posts of people voicing their opinions. Smiley laugh Since you got them nice jewelry as well, you should be in the clear!
